Peace and good! As we continue to reflect upon the commit-ments and promises made for this New Year – 2020 –let us pause and reflect upon the importance of the Eucharist in our lives. As the Gospels challenge us, we are invited to respond to Jesus’ invitation, “Remain here and keep watch with me” (Mt 26:38b). As we commit to the celebration of the Eucharist each Sunday, I would invite you to consider the spiritual practice of Eucharistic Adoration. Eucharistic Adoration is a time of “spiritual communion” which deepens our personal relation-ship with Christ. Each of us have the opportunity to spend time before the Blessed Sacrament. These opportunities may be 10 minutes before or after Mass, a holy hour, weekly Eucharistic Adora-tion, First Friday Eucharistic Adoration, and/or Nocturnal Ado-ration. Whatever time we find to spend before the Eucharist allows us to experience the blessings and graces of God. Saint Teresa of Calcutta shared: “Night and day, he is there. If you really want to grow in love, come back to the Eucharist, come back to that Adoration.” As each of us come before the Blessed Sacrament, we come with many different prayer forms and petitions. These prayer forms may include: the rosary; Franciscan Crown; Stations of the Cross, Divine Mercy chaplet; Litany of the Most Holy Eu-charist; litanies of the Sacred Heart, the Holy Name of Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and St. Joseph; pri-vate prayer; the Divine Praises; etc. May our prayer experiences before the Blessed Sacrament be transformative and empower us to become more like Christ.

The Parish staff wishes to thank the following parish min-istries: We thank our parishioners for their support of the Parish Facil-ity Fund Collection. Your contr ibutions assist us in main-taining and caring for our parish buildings and grounds. Know that we are grateful for your prayers and support. We thank our parishioners who joined us for the celebration of Simbang Gabi on December 16, 2019. A special thank you for the parishioners, Filipino Catholics and choir from the Dio-cese of Arlington who planned and prepared the celebra-tion. We thank our director of facilities and the facility/events staff who prepared the Church and grounds for the Christmas cele-bration and Masses. Their work and set up added to the festive, faith-filled and Franciscan celebration of the Christmas Sea-son. Many thanks to the entire facility staff! We thank our Director of Facilities and the facilities/kitchen/events staff for their planning, preparation, and set up for the many celebrations, gatherings, and events at the parish during the months of December and January. Many thanks! We thank Father David Bonarrigo, TOR for his vision and oversight of the development of the parish nativity scene dur-ing his years as pastor. When Father David became pastor he began the parish nativity with three Fontanini statutes: Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. Over the years, parishioners donated over thirty Fontanini statutes. We thank Father Jim Angert, TOR who continued the tradition and added to the nativity. We also thank the parishioners who donated the statutes and shared their time in setting up the nativity over the years. Many bless-ings! We thank the individuals who open the Church each morning, the individuals who minister as servers, caretakers of the Church, lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, sanctuary mem-bers, altar society, and volunteers who clean the Church.
