Fiat Camp for Young Women. "Fiat" is Latin for “Let it be done.” This was Mary’s response to the angel Gabriel when she was asked to become the mother of Jesus. Mary was called to live courageously and to give her whole life, and because of her response, she changed the world. At Fiat Camp, young women will be challenged to become fully who they are – to embrace the unique gifts given to them by God and to discover the great dignity of their vocation as a woman. For this year's camp for young women who are rising 9th-12th Graders, the Archdiocese of Washington is partnering with the Archdiocese of Baltimore. The camp will be held from July 27-29 at Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, MD, and it includes prayer, talks, discussions with religious Sisters, games, and sports. Fee is $150 (sibling discounts & scholarships available). Details and registration at www.quovadisfiat.org. S.O.M.E. Tuesday, June 12 is our Parish’s day to bring lunch to about 400 needy people at So Others Might Eat. Please bring food items to the street on Woodland Drive between the Kennedy Room and the School between 9:15 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. For more information about this Ministry, please contact Jane Welsh at 301-754-2141 or Sue Wiant at 301-593-8689.

They will make the annual trip to Hershey Park on Tuesday, attend their Farewell Assembly on Wednesday (when each grade honors the graduating class with a speech or a song), and graduate on Thursday. Good luck to all our graduates as they head off to the high school of their choice. They will be lucky to have you. But remember, you are always welcome here at SJE. PRECIOUS BLOOD On this solemnity we focus our attention on the Body and Blood of Christ. We listen to the story of the renewal of the old covenant, which Moses sealed by splashing the blood of animals on the altar of sacrifice, as well as on the people. Jesus, whose blood is the blood of the new covenant, shed that precious blood on the cross, saving us from sin and promising us everlasting life. Blood is the life source that courses through our bodies. The precious blood of Christ is the life source for our spirits. Today may we, like the psalmist, offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the Lord, whose Body and Blood strengthen us to bring the Good News to everyone we meet. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.
