PETER’S PENCE COLLECTION: Today in parishes
throughout the Diocese of Buffalo the annual Peter’s
Pence Collection is taken up. This collection enables
Pope Francis to respond as soon as possible to the
needs of the poor, hungry. homeless, refugees and
immigrants, people fleeing civil war, religious
persecution and political turmoil throughout the world.
Pope Francis has become the voice of the poor. Our
generous response to the Peter’s Pence Collection will
enable our Holy Father to care for all in need as if we are
caring for Jesus Himself. Because all of the donations
received are sent directly to Rome for distribution by the
Vatican to the poor, there will be a special second
collection to enable all of us to share in the charitable
works of Pope Francis.
Are you looking for a way to give back or a new
hobby for the summer months? Consider becoming a
volunteer with Catholic Charities. Opportunities range
from working in one of our eight food pantries to clerical
work to sorting donations and instructing classes. If you
are ready to make a change and change lives in the
process, visit www.ccwny.org/volunteer. Join us on
Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Jesus still speaks the invitation, “Come, follow Me!”
If God is calling you to priesthood or religious life, what is
holding you back? If God is calling you to a Church
vocation, call Fr. Andrew Lauricella at 716-847-5535.
You can also check out the “Priest of the Month” stories

We would like to thank to Dolores and her Casino friends for their donation of $226 to our parish. Thank you to the Graduating Class of 1969 for their donation of $100 to the parish.
May Our Lord continue to bless you for your generosity
to St. John Kanty.
