Bishop Vasquez’s Reflection Question
Gospel Meditation:
Today, Jesus asks us, “Who do you say that I am?”
Caesarea Philippi was named after Caesar who claimed the
title “Son of God.” Peter’s confession that Jesus is the
Christ (or Messiah), “the Son of the Living God” announces
that Jesus, not Caesar, is Son of God. It was presumed that
the Messiah was to remove Israel’s enemies and establish
God’s kingdom on earth. This is not Jesus’ goal, but the
world’s. It is here that Jesus begins his journey to Jerusalem
and the Passion. What worldly powers do I need to reject in
order to place complete confidence in Jesus?
Liturgy of the Hours Liturgy of the Hours will now be prayed each morning in
the Ave Maria Chapel. On Wednesdays and Fridays, they
will be prayed before 7:00am Mass. On Mondays, Tues-
days, and Thursdays, they will be prayed at 7:00am in the
Chapel. Dary Santos will lead the prayers. Everyone is
welcome to come.

Trivia Corner
Why are two apostles called James the Greater and
James the Less? This was a way to distinguish the two
called James. It didn’t mean that one was better than the
other. The Greater was called to be an apostle first. The
Less means he was called to be an apostle after the other
James.
