Witness Publication Updated Information Please be advised that after careful consideration that

included a thorough review of subscriptions, financ-

es, and available resources, it has been decided that

the archdiocese will discontinue The Witness at 4:30

PM on 30 September 2020. The issue dated 4 Octo-

ber 2020 will be the last.

on the Archdiocesan website (link is at the bottom of

the St. Isidore website) or in last week’s bulletin.

Creating Hope during COVID-19 Catholic Charities ministries continue to be available

both remotely and in-person (by appointment only)

during the COIVD-19 pandemic. In fact, we are gen-

erally able to assist people sooner, so if you have

been thinking about seeking counseling services, or

seek legal advice from an immigration attorney, now

is a great time.

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Dubuque has set

up a Derecho Relief Fund to provide direct relief to indi-

viduals and families, especially those vulnerable populations

that have been disproportionately adversely affected. Abso-

lutely all of the monies donated will go directly to help indi-

viduals and families, where it is most needed, with priority

to those who aren’t eligible for state and federal relief.

Charities’ Counselors are also available for professional con-

sultations for parish and school staff, by making an appoint-

ment with the same number. For 24/7 disaster crisis counsel-

ing, call the Iowa Concern Hotline at 800-447-1985. Please

Faith Formation Team Update The Faith Formation Staff

at the Archdiocese of Dubuque is a team of dedicated profes-

sionals whose role is to assist parish leaders in the formation

of Missionary Disciples. Due to personnel changes and real-

location of staff responsibilities, we have some small chang-

es in how we support you. While each staff member has a

specific focus, all members work together as a team with a

shared vision. Adult Faith Formation is led by Matt Selby

and supported by Lynne Chapman who facilitates the IM-

PACT program. Mary Pedersen is staying on to support the

current IMPACT cohort. Marriage and Family Life is led by

Matt Selby, but Lynne Chapman will be stepping up to lead

the Marriage Preparation programs such as Engaged En-

counter, Pre-Cana, and Two Become One. Youth and Young

Adult Ministry is led by Kevin Feyen with help from Jim

Betnzer in registration for youth events such as TEC and

NCYC. Joanne Pohland is leading Children and Family For-

mation. Kim Feldman and Tricia Tranel will continue to as-

sist with resource consultations. Lynne Chapman will be

leading Disability Inclusion advocacy and events. Profes-

sional Development Assistance such as the Religious Studies

Grant and Dayton courses are taken care of by Carla Kasal.
