Used postage stamps: Deacon Peter is still collecting used stamps and will be grateful for your contributions. The stamps are sorted and sold to dealers. The proceeds are then sent to the British Leprosy Mission and the Hearing Dogs Society. A box has been provided at the back of church.

Thinking outside the pew: Scripture Group: : 'Bread from heaven' - how does this nourish us? Continuing our study of John chapter 6 and its links to the Eucharist. God of the poor, Help us to rescue the abandoned and forgotten of this earth, so precious in your eyes. Bring healing to our own lives, that we may protect the earth and not prey upon it, that we may sow beauty rather than pollution, life rather than destruction and hope in place of despair. Amen

We’ll report weekly collection totals when normal service is resumed in a few weeks. Many thanks for the £207 donated last week.

Walton Prison are looking for guitars in good condition that they could use for teaching the inmates to play. If you have one to donate please leave at St Joseph’s church. They will be collected from there.

FATIMA FIRST SATURDAYS: In a spirit of reparation to Our Blessed Lady, the Fatima Devotions will take place on Saturday, 4th August. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament 11 am; Rosary 11.10 am; Sacrament of Reconciliation available; Holy Mass at 12 noon.

Please note that the office will be closed for the summer break from 27th July.

The office will re-open on Tuesday 28th August.

Nugent Care Charity shop needs donations! The shop is one of the most popular charity shops in the area, with a lot of regular customers and the team have sold over 40,000 items so far this year and raised over £90,000 for our community services. Our stock is going so fast we can't keep up! So if your having a clear-out, looking to free up some space, have some unwanted gifts, we would be happy to take them. You can drop goods off at the shop on Allerton Road, or we can collect from you. Our drivers collect on Thursdays, please call Jeanette at the shop to arrange a collection. 0151 737 2951
