Missionary Society of St. Paul Mission Appeal
We want to welcome Fr. Evaristus Chukwu, M.S.P. to St. Gerard Majella Church. Our church is missionary by nature. Each of us baptized Catholics are called to share in the work of evangelization. The archdiocese of Los Angeles collaborates with mission groups every year to raise funds for their mission through a program called Missionary Cooperative Plan. The group assigned to our parish this year is the Missionary Society of St. Paul. Fr. Evaristus Chukwu, MSP will be speaking to us from the Missionary Society of St. Paul on the weekend of September 7-8. The Missionary Society of St. Paul (MSP) is a congregation of priests founded in Nigeria in 1977. The Society now has 281 priests. They are working in eleven countries of Africa, (South Africa , Malawi, Botswana, Cameroon, Liberia, Chad, Central African Republic, The Gambia, Nigeria, Kenya, and Southern Sudan), Grenada in the West Indies, the Unite States, England, Sweden and Ireland. They also have about 134 seminarians in their seminary in Nigeria. Their mission in Malawi provides rehabilitation and support for over 360 orphans who lost their parents due to AIDS. They need our financial assistance to continue this mission. There will be a second collection to support them in their work. Your support to this worthy cause will bean immense encouragement to the Missionary Society of St. Paul as they continue to take the good news to those desperately in need of it. May God bless you!

Teach your children the concept of “total body safety” Teaching the concept of “total body safety” encompasses all parts of the body, including the head, mouth, legs and arms, which are usually overlooked. Child abuse perpetrators can use any part of the body to stimulate a child or young person, or to arouse themselves. Additionally, it is important to stress to teens the importance of “total body safety” in their relationships with others. My journey to motherhood has not been an easy one, my biggest desire and greatest blessing from God would be a healthy baby of my own to love and to hold.
