Also, the second trimester giving envelopes are available for you to pick up if you have not yet received yours. WELCOME REV. DR. JOHN TATE Please welcome Rev. Dr. John B. Tate, Jr. as our preacher and worship leader today at 10:30 AM worship. He will also lead our 8:00 AM service of prayer and Holy Communion.

Rev. Tate, a retired member of the Virginia Annual Conference, is a graduate of Duke University, Temple University School of Theology and Wesley Seminary. He served appointments throughout Virginia from 1957 through 1999. John and his wife, Barbara, currently make their home in Washington, D.C.

During his distinguished career, John served on the Board of United Methodist Family Services, the District Committee on Ordained Ministry, the United Methodist Association on Hospitals and Homes, Rotary Club in Woodstock and Oakton, Duke University Alumni Association, Shepherd’s Center of Oakton-Vienna Board. He also worked at Fairfax Hospital for eight years in their Alcoholism Treatment Unit and also served as a volunteer Chaplain in several hospitals in Virginia.

We are grateful for Pastor Tate sharing his gifts with us at St. George’s!

CONFIRMATION CLASSES Confirmation classes are taking place on Sunday morning at 9:00 AM in the Junior High Sunday school classroom. Please be in prayer for participants Bradley Moore, Molly Mitchell, Jordi Ortiz, Alayna Ricard, and Christian Rodriguez and for their mentors Buck Gibson, Esther Haley, Jay Haley, Karen Lee, and CP Watkins. Confirmation Sunday will be Sunday, June 9th at 10:30 AM worship. This year, class members will also participate in a retreat on the weekend of May 3-5, 2013. Teachers are Cindy Hardy, Ann Platenkamp, and Pastor Denise.
