Putting West Draytonon the map
The location of Parkwest means you can enjoy thebest of city and country living. The greenest part of thecapital is in fact, West London.
Everyone knows about Kew Gardens with its iconicPalm House but less famous are the likes of OsterleyPark, Syon Park or Gunnersbury Park, yet, they mayalready be familiar to you. Over the years, theseelegant, historic locations have been the backdrop forsome of Britain’s biggest films like The Madness ofKing George and Gosforth Park.
There are grand country houses set in acres of rollingparkland. Visitors are rewarded not just with theamazing architecture – the Great Conservatory atSyon Park has to be seen to be believed – but also bylandscaped grounds and formal gardens. Headingwest you can enjoy the cosmopolitan buzz ofChiswick, just twenty minutes from Parkwest, and ahotspot for many West Londoners with its wide choiceof fashionable bars, cafes and restaurants.
Moving towards the capital, the world famous HydePark, Regent’s Park and St James’s Park make greatplaces to relax or picnic on long summer days. Fornature lovers West London offers any number oflakes, canals, heaths, woodlands, wetlands andnature reserves to explore.

Brunel University. Over40 years of excellence
IsambardKingdom Brunel:the university’snamesake andinfluence
When gold medal winners JamesCracknell and Audley Harrison stoodon top of the Olympic podium listeningto the national anthem perhaps theypaused for a moment to recognisethe role of Brunel University in theirsuccess. Just three miles fromParkwest, the university has becomeworld renowned for its sportingsuccess. Graduates include stars oftrack and field as well as championsin a wide range of disciplines fromjudo to marathon canoeing.
The reason for success can be putdown to a combination of teachingexcellence – the university has
received a 100% ‘excellent’ record inteaching quality since 1999 – andoutstanding facilities. For example, two years ago the universityintroduced UEFA-class footballfacilities and a new internationalcompetition-standard athletics track.
Brunel has so much more to beproud of than simply its sportingachievements. As befits a universitythat took the entrepreneurial andvisionary spirit of Isambard KingdomBrunel as its inspiration, Brunel holdsofficial ‘world class’ rankings insubjects including engineering, law,IT, maths and sociology.
