We trust that all our new pupils are feeling comfortable and happy in our school environment. We welcome our Grade 1s into the Junior School and we wish them every success as they begin their formal schooling. Our first day back at school began with our Opening School Mass which was a wonderful way to start the new year with our focus on God. The following prayer was prayed during our School Mass:- May we all remember the words and thoughts conveyed in this prayer as we journey through this New Year together as One School, One Family, One Spirit. Creator God , we place this school year with all its plans , hopes and dreams before you. Pour out your spirit on all our endeavours. Let us never be so rushed or pressed for time that we don’t have time for one another or to reach out to one another. In spite of study commitments, may we all find the space to ponder what guides our thoughts and decisions each day. This we ask in Jesus’ name.

A Note From Mrs Van Dyk’s Desk As we come to the end of January 2016 we trust that all our Grade 1-7 girls are

Welcome to new Staff St Dominic’s Junior School welcomes the following

Bread clips

Extra sandwiches every Wednesday

Change for the poor bottle

Empty ice-cream tubs and plastic

bags for the Brakpan SPCA

Cleaning materials and detergents

for HOSPICE

All these items can be given in to the

class teacher . We thank you in advance

for your great generosity.

Grade 7 Tour We wish all our Grade 7 Girls a safe and enjoyable Team Building Tour. They

leave on Tuesday 2 February for Konka , which is situated in the

Magaliesberg , and return on Friday the 5 February.

Grade 7 Headmaster’s Breakfast We thank Mr Loring for hosting our Grade 7 girls to a delicious breakfast on

Thursday 28 February, followed by an informative and encouraging address

given by Mr Loring. We hope our Grade 7s will enjoy their final year in Junior

School and that they will work together for the benefit of the school.

Thank you Mrs Hearder and her staff for catering for this special event.

Parents’ Evening—26 January 2016 We thank all our parents who attended our Parents’ Evening on Tuesday 26

January. We trust that you found the evening beneficial. Please remember to

contact your daughter’s teacher if you have any concerns relating to your
