CHRISTMAS ~ There are ‘4’ distinct sets of readings for the Solemnity of Christmas: Vigil
Mass, Mass at Night, Mass at Dawn and Mass at Day. Although the readings are very
different, there is something they all have in common. Clearly God entered into our
world and our lives and things, as they say, would never be the same. Promises and expectations of
peace and healing and forgiveness and hope and grace in great measure came into our world. What
happened in that manger was a bursting into our world and into our consciousness of the presence
of God into our humanity. To be sure it is beyond anything we could fully understand – mystery in
the truest sense of the word. It is no surprise then that we have ‘4’ sets of readings; as if ‘1’ would
do. We look at this God promised moment in time as the greatest mystery full of grace that broke
death and sin bringing life and grace. Emmanuel! God with us! Fr. Perry Leiker, Pastor
Quote of the Week:
“Even the holy men who lived before the coming of Christ understood that God had in mind plans of peace for the human race.”

Emmanuel! ¡Dios con nosotros!

Sabía Usted? Las aplicaciones de teléfono
permiten esconder fotos y mensajes
VIRTUS® “Vanishing, Self-Destructing Texting, and Electronic

familia

Did you Know? Cell phone apps allow for hiding photos and messages. — A review of a young person’s cell phone text
messages may provide a parent or caring adult with information
such as who your child talks to, where they are going, and what
they’re doing. Unfortunately, all of that may be in the past.
Today, some new cell phone text messaging services keep cell
phone texting activity increasingly private. In order to protect young people,
one must stay current and re-connect with ever changing technology. For a copy

ANNOINTING OF THE SICK This sacrament is a powerfully healing sacrament meant to be
given to the sick during their illness. It is NOT necessary to
wait for the last hours for it is no longer referred to or thought
of as “last rites”. This sacrament shares the sacramental gift
of Jesus Christ for the purpose of strengthening, encouraging,
and healing a person deep within their spirit. Even if one
should die this sacrament usually prepares them and gifts
them with healing peace. Some suggestions to be shared with
all your family members . . .
• Call a priest at the beginning of a serious illness or hospital stay
• Educate the family to understand that this sacrament is for healing
• Invite family members to participate in the celebration of this
sacrament
• Do not wait for the last moments when a priest might not be
available
