Stewardship Moment “He called them, and immediately they left

their boat and their father and followed

Him.” MATTHEW 4:22

Just as Jesus called the first apostles, He calls each of us to follow Him, too. Not everyone is called to leave their business or family behind, but we are expected to put God first in everything. Everything from our time in daily prayer, our talent in participating in one of our parish ministries and our treasure to support the financial needs of our parish mission.

Catholic Schools Week kicks off this weekend! Once again we rejoice with our Catholic School families. We lift up in prayer all those who

sacrifice to keep our Catholic schools vitalized. Thank you to the St. Benedict parishioners who support this apostolate, past (St. Joseph Academy) and present (St. John Paul II Catholic Schools Network). We are blessed to have you in such an important role in the success of our schools and in Catholic education.

To kick things off, we hope many will join us for the Family Fun Fair at Trinity Elementary this afternoon from 12:00-3:00 p.m. It is the biggest fundraiser of the year! An All Schools Mass will be celebrated Thursday morning, January 30, at 9:30 a.m. at Shanley High School. Discovery Nights will be held this week at the elementary schools for parents who are interested in learning more about our schools and unique programs.

See today’s special bulletin insert with more details!

Weekly Prayer of the Faithful That we may faithfully follow Jesus, wherever and whenever He calls.

SEARCH is an opportunity to think, talk, question, and wonder about the joys and struggles of faith in everyday life. How does Christ fit into your busy schedule? Evangelization opportunity - January 29! The first chapter of Mark's Gospel gives us the story of Jesus healing all the ill and possessed in town, and the following morning He wakes up early to find a quiet place to pray. The Apostles find him and say, "Everyone is looking for you." Everyone is looking for God, whether they know Him by that name or not. Do you know someone who is seeking, who has a spiritual openness, but they are not yet practicing the Catholic faith? We hear from many parishioners in the area that they wish there were more events to invite non-Catholics - or just disengaged Catholics - to. An event that can easily lead to starting a faith conversation. This Wednesday, January 29th, we have this type of event happening right in Fargo. Our bisonCatholic Week Keynote Speaker is Matt Fradd, giving a talk titled, "God, The Universe, and Everything". This talk will get into the questions that everyone wants answered: Why are we here? Is there a God? How can we know? Matt Fradd is the author of several best-selling books, a sought after speaker who reaches tens of thousands of people every year, and his podcasts, "Pints With Aquinas" and "The Matt Fradd Show", receive hundreds of thousands of downloads every month. Please join us on Wednesday, January 29th, at 7:00 p.m. in the STEM building of NDSU (AG Hill 112), and take advantage of this opportunity by inviting a friend who you've been meaning to bring up the faith with.
