Change is in the air. Not only is the weather changing, but the Lodge is
also changing. As many of you have requested, the House has decided
to have Karaoke, Burgers, and Dogs on Saturdays. Please understand
that we are OPEN and looking for you to come back to see us. The
Lodge stands by to assist you with your dining and drinking needs.
Please come back to see us; we are ready to see you. To help with
COVID concerns our Housekeeping service sanitizes and deep cleans
our Lodge 3 times a week.
We all have our favorite places to go including the Elks Lodge, please try
to include the Elks Lodge in your travels when you are out and about.
Remember during this time the Lodge needs all the support you can
give. Please stop by whenever you can. Don’t forget that the Social
Quarter is open after our business meetings on the 1st and 3rd Wednes-
days, you are welcome to stay afterwards and enjoy the company of
other Elks. Due to a lack of customers, the Lodge will be closed on Sun-
days in November.
There will be an event on Veterans Day, November 11. We are current-
ly working out the details. You can find all information on what is going
on in the lodge not only on the Calendar included in this monthly bulletin,
but our website elks829.org and St. Augustine Elks Lodge Facebook
page (just like our page to receive updates). If the Secretary has your
email address, you can receive updates as well.
My Elk of the month for November is Grace Andrews. Grace recently
chaired The Breast Cancer Survivor party for the Lodge. She has volun-
teered to be the Tiler, take temperatures when we need to, and help
waitress. She is also the Drug Awareness representative and recently
took 5000 coloring books and pendants to local schools. Thank you,
Grace!
I have heard from many of you that you are not receiving the bulletin. If
you are not receiving your monthly bulletin, please email the Secretary
Keep in mind the teachings of our ritual, Brotherly Love “softens the
stern realities of life and manifests itself in good fellowship.”
Connie Sarnowski, Exalted Ruler

Of everything that the Florida Elks do, perhaps nothing is more im-
portant than our work with the state’s youth. Sowing the seeds of ac-
complishment and commitment through our Florida Elks Children’s
Therapy Services and Florida Elks Youth Camp programs, children are
given the opportunity to grow and learn beyond their dreams.
The trust fund started in 1951, was named after Harry and Anna Miller
who donated land and a building to establish the original Florida Elks
Hospital for Crippled Children. Its purpose was, and continues to be,
the collection of donations and the acceptance of endowed gifts.
The trust fund is restricted, which means that only the income derived
from it may be used to support our major projects: the Florida Elks Chil-
dren’s Therapy Services and Florida Elks Youth Camp programs.
So maybe this is the first you have heard of our sustaining donor cam-
paign. Believe me, getting started could not be any easier:
♦ Simply visit our website at www.floridaelks.org. In the upper right
corner of the website, hover over the word “Donate” and when the
page peels back, click on the donate button. Complete the required
information and don’t forget to click the “yes” box on the line where
it says to automatically repeat this gift every month.
♦ That’s it; you are done! You are now a sustaining (monthly) donor
and a supporter of both our major projects! Your donation is now on
autopilot and your credit card will be charged for your monthly do-
nation each month like clockwork. Your name will be printed every
quarter in the Florida Elks Magazine declaring you a sustaining
supporter of our major projects!
Now, and this one is entirely up to you, but the next time someone in
the lodge asks you to donate to the major projects, tell them you are a
sustaining donor and that you already give!
Contact the Lodge Secretary if you would prefer to donate on a mail-in
form.
