SOAR NEWS
Do you have a plan if you or someone you love has a crisis?
Have you ever thought about being an Altar Server?
This wonderful ministry of adults and young people who help around the Altar at Masses, assisting the presider during our liturgies,
might be waiting for you to join!
Who can be an altar server? Adults, men and women, and young people who
have received their first communion and are at least in the fourth grade, are invited to an informational
meeting in the Church on Sunday, January 27th at 1:30pm.
Is God calling you to this special ministry?
Please pray about joining our corps of Altar Servers. We need additional volunteers (adults and young
people) to fully staff all weekend Masses.
See you at the meeting on January 27th, Sunday, at 1:30pm in the Church!
For more information or to let us know you plan to attend, please call Paula at 831.920.2869.
SAVE THE DATE The Diocese of Monterey will celebrate the Installation Mass for our new bishop,
Daniel Garcia, on Tuesday, January 29th, 2019, at 2:00pm, at Madonna del Sasso.
We would like to let you know that the Mass will be broadcast live on the Diocese of Monterey YouTube page and regular up-dates about the event
can be found on the diocesan website: www.dioceseofmonterey.org. You can also follow the Diocese of Monterey on Facebook
for up-dates as well.
St Angela Merici will be live streaming this event in the parish hall. For those who would like to attend, the
Mass starts at 2:00pm and the hall will be open at 1:30pm.
Parish Pastoral Council
The Pastoral Council meets quarterly to review Parish Pastoral Plan and to assess ongoing pastoral needs of the Parish Community. Primary areas for discussion are
Eucharist (liturgy and faith formation), Evangelization (leadership, youth, community, and communication) and Stewardship (gifts and talents awareness, outreach).
Have an Idea or Concern?
If you feel there is a topic or idea that should be brought up in a quarterly meeting, there are three ways to provide input:
* Place a comment in the suggestion box, which can be found in the Parish Library. * Speak directly with a Pastoral Council Member at any of the weekend Masses. Just ask a greeter to point them out to you. * Submit a comment through the Pastoral Council page on the par ish Website: stangelamericipacificgrove.org.
The next Pastoral Council meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 23, 2019. Pastoral Council members will be available after all the Masses next weekend,
January 19th and 20th.
