The beautiful colors that now grace our hillsides and the brisk, fresh air has replaced the hot sunny days of the past few months. It is a great time of year, my favorite, to get outside with your wonderful Angel Caregivers, family and friends and have a little walk or ride in the fresh air. Here at Visiting Angels we have been busy, to say the least! We are so happy that due to the wonderful Caregivers and Cli- ents we have, the phones have been ringing as many new fami- lies and individuals are reaching out and allowing us to provide the highest level of quality care available in the area. A huge thank you goes out to our Cli- ents and Caregivers. In addition to working with new and existing clients, we have been busy on many other fronts with a focus on additional ser- vices and programs for our cli- ents, added educational pro- grams for our Caregivers and improved systems within the business. In this Fall edition of our Home Times Newsletter, I urge you to read about many of the following activities are noted: October 31 st Halloween Party for our clients and Caregivers in the Annex Current planning to open the Annex 1-2 times per week for the enjoyment and relaxation of our clients Planning underway for our Holiday Party Recognition of some of our very Special Caregivers Palliative Care Training Oct/Nov for Caregivers. Providing a soothing ap- Sue joined Visiting Angels after working 26 years provid- ing nursing care for the nuns in a convent in Ridgefield. The convent closed and Sue joined the staff of Visiting Angels. She is a devoted care- giver, and has provided ex- ceptional home care assis- tance to numerous Visiting Angels clients over the past 7 years. Sue is an active and involved advocate having served on the local commis- sion on aging, and is currently a volunteer state advocate for AARP. Sue enjoys helping both the young and elderly. She and her husband Keith have hosted seventeen ex- change students during their 26 years of marriage. She is a Certified Nursing Assistant, Notary Public, and holds cer- tificates in paralegal, business management, and biblical studies. Sue is studying soci- ology and plans to graduate with a BA in June 2013. Sue’s energy, willingness to step in to help others and her loyalty to Visiting Angels are only a few examples of the spirit and character of this amazing woman. Thank you for all you do!
