Saturday Vigil Mass – 4pm

and 12noon – Mass in Spanish

Also, in June and July, the Parish Office is closed on Fridays.

SUMMER REMINDER� Parish Facilities are closed to groups and ministries in June and July for cleaning and repairs. Facility requests will be sent to group and ministry heads for August, in mid-July. Next Ministry Council meeting will be held on Monday, August 13. Have a wonderful and restful Summer.

WEEKLY UPDATE

Every year the Diocese of Venice calls upon its parishes to support the Catholic Faith Appeal, a fund that benefits many programs, both throughout the diocese and here in our own parish, like the one featured on the graphics on this page. If you haven’t participated yet, please prayerfully consider joining the 2018 CFA. Every little bit helps, even if just a one time donation. In previous years, we have fallen short of seeing even 20% of our registered families participating (last year about 16%). If more families helped, St. Andrew Church could easily meet its annual Parish Goal, which once again this year is $320,000. To participate, just go to our website at www.standrewrcc.org/donations and scroll down to the link under Catholic Faith Appeal.

ORDINATION SAVE THE DATE� The Ordination to the Priesthood of Transitional Deacon Shawn Roser will take place at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 14, at Epiphany Cathedral, 350 Tampa Avenue West, Venice. All are welcome and encouraged to attend this important event in the life of Deacon Shawn and the Diocese of Venice.

MOTHER’S DAY DINNER��

On Sunday, May 6, AndrewsYouth hosted a special early mother’s day dinner in the Parish Hall. Many attended and enjoyed a beautiful event put on by our young people.

CLASS REWARDS FOR EXCELLENT SALES!� The much-anticipated First Place Prize for Top Festival Cash Raffle Sales by Classrooms came wrapped as a CARNIVAL! Fifth Grade and Kindergarten classes were rewarded with the fun of carnival treats and games when they were invited to the special reward celebration. Our hard-working parent volunteers planned the event, created the games, presented the snacks and hosted the event which featured facepainting, cotton candy, candied apples, cupcakes and lots of games and prizes. Thank you to the Cash Raffle Committee headed by Mary Socin-Schmitz, Heidi Rustic, Shelley Cudnik, and Jenny Phillips as well as to all who helped with the party! Congratulations, Grade 5 and Kindergarten! Sincere gratitude is extended to all school families, parishioners and visitors here and at surrounding parishes for their wonderful support! Your efforts make a tremendous difference at St. Andrew Catholic School!

HUNGER�

As part of preparing kids for First Holy Communion, I bring them into the Church and I played them a song by Chris Tomlin called “The Table” which features these lyrics: “I will feast at the table of the Lord / I won’t hunger anymore / At His table.” I then asked the kids what I’ll now ask you to consider: For what are you hungry? Are you hungry for companionship? Are you hungry for peace and less stress? Are you hungry for joy or even just enjoyment and less sorrow or anger? Are you hungry for better health? Are you hungry for more love in your life? For whatever you hunger, God wants to feed us. At the Table of the Lord, God offers Himself as food for our soul. Among the many reasons to come to Mass every week (if not more often) is the chance to be fed. Hungry for more people in your life? Join the ushers and greet people before and after Mass. Hungry to serve others? Become a Eucharistic Minister. Hungry for quiet and peace? Enter into prayer deeply at Mass and receive Jesus with gratitude. Hungry for better relationships? Let the presence of Jesus in the Eucharist inspire you to make the right decisions. God so badly wants to feed us of all our needs that He actually offers Himself. Will you let Him feed you?
