St. Vincent de Paul Corner

December was an extra challenging month. For so many, it is a time to celebrate the birth of our Lord. In His honor, we decorate our homes, give gifts, and take time to prepare a celebration. Sadly, not everyone has that experience. Helping those who need it gives you a chance to show God’s love and mercy. In December your gifts were responsible for providing assistance to eight families. Two families, who were homeless and living in their cars, found a proper home. We kept three families in their current homes by assisting with rent caused by various reasons; medical expenses, job losses, expenses they could not plan for. Aid was given to parents who could not give a Christmas gift to their children.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Your generosity gives our God a tangible presence that these people may not have seen before they came to St. Vincent de Paul for assistance.

If you know someone who needs help, give them our number, 262-877-2557 ext 231

Your gifts of money, goods, and time make a difference in the lives of others. Thank you for helping make a difference in the lives of people in our community. We pray you will continue to support the mission of St. Vincent de Paul.

THE GIFT YOU ARE: To God, to Self, to Others

Silent Theme Retreat

January 24-26, 2020 St. Anthony Spirituality Center

300 E. Fourth St. Marathon, WI 54448 715.443.2236 [email protected] www.sarcenter.com

Presented by Lee Ann Niebuhr, Rita Simon, and Elizabeth Schussler

We live in a world of material abundance, a world in which most of us find it easy to present loved ones with beautiful and thoughtful gifts. But do we find it as easy to share - or even to recognize - the gift of our very selves?

The gift you are is the most precious gift of all, but it is sometimes the most difficult gift to find. Begin or continue your search for this gift by joining us on this weekend retreat. Retreat sessions will help you explore the gift you are from both Biblical and Mindfulness perspectives. Meanwhile, the time, space, and silence of this retreat will help you apply what you have learned in the sessions, contemplating and reconnecting with the gift you are - to yourself, to others, and to the God who made you!
