Welcome to our 2011 Provincial Conference and Policy session.

the Alberta Chambers of Commerce (ACC) is excited to hold this year’s conference in st. Albert which is celebrating its 150th anniversary. A sesquicentennial is a unique milestone in our young province, and it’s not often our federation has the chance to participate in celebrations such as Rendezvous 2011.

We are thrilled the st. Albert Chamber is so keen to host our 124-member federation in its creative city and historic region. over the next three days, we will celebrate Rendezvous 2011 with st. Albert, while also enjoying some tremendous daytime presentations and good,

robust policy discussions.

ACC and the st. Albert Chamber are welcoming delegates from all over Alberta to this conference. I hope you take the opportunity to discuss your chamber’s successes and challenges with other chamber representatives, for this kind of interaction is a wonderful aspect of our federation.

our 2011 Provincial Conference and Policy session marks the end of my year as Chair of ACC, but in the coming year I promise to remain committed and active in the position of Past Chair.

tim bolton of Airdrie is succeeding me as Chair, and those of you who have participated on the Policy Committee will have experienced his abilities first hand. tim will continue to move ACC forward as a leading organization in Alberta and a positive resource to our members.

I have enjoyed my time as Chair immensely. thank you for the honour of allowing me to serve in this position. together we have made great strides as an organization because we have a strong, common goal in that we are always seeking the best for Alberta.

Welcome from the ACC Chair

GoLF 12:00 PM to 5:30 PMsANdPIPeR GoLF ANd CouNtRy CLub each summer, the st. Albert Chamber holds its Golf tournament at the sandpiper Golf and Country Club. situated along the sturgeon River, the sandpiper is a wonderful host and a beautiful course. A great environment for all levels of players, the sandpiper boasts some of the best greens in and around edmonton for the past fourteen years. this tournament will be a fun “texas scramble” style event. scrambles involve four players per team, each playing four balls. After each player drives, the best of four is chosen and all four team members will play from that spot, and so on throughout the game. our tournament also features a sponsor at each hole, who often set up additional fun activities (or yummy food!) for the players.
