Visit the following website and you will find a variety of games you can play. Start with counting the Gingerbread Man’s buttons, then move on to matching and ordering them. Challenge yourself to complete all of the games.

Can you use some of the clean boxes and pots from your recycling bin to make some junk model animals from the story? Or you could make a boat for the Gingerbread Man to use to get to the other side of the river.

Literacy Can you draw and decorate your own Gingerbread Man? What colours will you use? Can you hear the first sound in the different parts of him? (leg, button, head, mouth, nose, hand) Could you give your Gingerbread Man a name? Write your name and the first sound of his name on your work in your neatest cursive handwriting.

Have a look at these Gingerbread Men. Which one is the biggest, which one is the smallest? Can you put them in size order?

Physical Understanding of the WorldCan you cut out 4 Gingerbread Men and stick them together to make a Gingerbread Man paper chain. Try your best to carefully cut them out, using and holding the scissors safely.

What would have happened if the Gingerbread Man would have tried to swim across the river?Why don’t you try a little experiment to find out! Pour some water into a bowl (this will be the river), then drop a Gingerbread Man/biscuit into the water, does it float on the top or sink to the bottom? If you leave the Gingerbread Man/biscuit in the water, what happens to it? So do you think the Gingerbread Man could have swam to the other side?
