Definition:

• Satan was a created angel who occupied the highest position covering God’s throne as light-bearer (which is what the name Lucifer means), Ezek 28:12-15.

1. KNOW YOUR OPPONENT• Satan is a finite, created being• He cannot know our thoughts apart

from our words, or read our hearts apart from our actions

• He is successful because of long experience with human nature, and deception, 2 Cor 11:14

• We are able to resist him successfully, James 4:7

• God imposes set limitations on Satan where he crosses the saint, Job 1:12; 2 Cor 12:7; 2 Tim 2:26
