PastorA Word From Your
I hope many of you had a chance to be a part of VBS during the month of June; it was
phenomenal. We are following up on many decisions made by the children and youth to
follow Jesus Christ. Along with this, we are developing a prospect list of un-churched families.
Our prayer is for our church family to reach out to these families and invite them back to
church in the weeks and months ahead.
I also want you to make sure that you take the time to express your appreciation to Brit,
Tracey, and Heath. They did an incredible job preparing the church for another very
successful VBS. I also want to say “Thank you” to all the volunteers who worked weeks in
advance to prepare to tell the children about the love of Jesus Christ. None of this is possible
without a church family that loves and supports the ministry to children. We had the privilege
of seeing numbers of children committing their lives to Jesus and the seed of the gospel was
planted in the lives of many others. To God be the glory!
As we consider the potential ministry the Lord has given us as a church, we are rapidly
approaching another landmark opportunity to reach even more people with the completion
of the activities building late in the Fall. This structure will be an invaluable tool to reach our
community with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
As we look forward to Harvest Sunday in November we are praying for the Lord to do
something that only He can do. Obviously we will set aside the funds for missions around the
world but my prayer is for the body of Christ to pray and give sacrificially this year as we bring
a Harvest Offering which exceeds anything the Lord has done in the past. I am still praying
and seeking counsel concerning the goal but I know that the Lord is leading us to reach
deep and give sacrificially between now and the November Harvest Day. We already have
a great start and as we prayerfully consider God’s will, I continue to pray that we will not just
give but that we will give out of our poverty and our abundance. The fund raising theme
is “For His Glory” and I am praying that every member of this church will have the ability to
say, “Our gift for Harvest Sunday was given For His Glory!” Please make this a matter of daily
prayer. We want to provide enough time for the body of Christ to seek the Lord and act on
His leadership. Pray for the Holy Spirit to show us how we can give in ways that we have not
considered in the past.
Please continue to pray for those who have been born again through the various ministries of
the church. We have seen a harvest both in the Youth Camp and VBS. Pray for the Lord to
open doors for the message of hope to be declared. Pray for boldness to speak of Jesus at
home and abroad. Pray for all who are on mission in Texas and around the world.
I also want you to be sure and clear you calendars for October 2nd -13th. This will be an
extended time of seeking the Lord as we ask the Holy Spirit to work in and through our lives.
Life Action Ministry will be with us to lead us as we ask the Lord to bring Revival in the Land.
Please make this a priority as you pray daily and make plans for the fall.
To God be the glory,
Pastor Mark
