in 2017. She did her masters in

Telugu Literature as well as Telugu

Pandit‟s Training.

She teaches First Language Telugu for

classes IV to VIII and has great

passion for teaching. She is an expert

in extempore and has a great insight in

matters of spirituality.

It is the supreme art of the Teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.

Mrs. P. Yashoda Rani, M.A., B.Ed., the energetic and

affectionate Teacher who retired from active service on

29th June 2019. She joined the institution on 13th June

2002 as a Telugu Teacher and served the institution for

17 years with lot of dedication and commitment. For

all her uncommon contributions apart from teaching,

she was also an excellent examination in-charge for

many years. She had imparted the right knowledge to

the students. Moreover, for her colleagues she was like

a sister who always extended her help to each and

everyone. On her last working day, the Principal, the

Vice-Principal and all the staff members shared their

mixed feelings, memorable experiences with her and

bid farewell to her. In her farewell address, she paid

tribute to all her colleagues for their support and

friendship; she suggested students to grow up as Sai

students following what they are learning in school, so

that their behaviour and character should have unique

identity in the society. She also gave a special message

to the present Class X to work hard sincerely and get

good results and bring laurels to school.

TEACHERS WHO INSPIRE NEVER REALLY RETIRE

Miss M.V. Sujatha, MA (Telugu)., B.Ed.,

Diploma in EHV, the most simple and dedicated

Teacher. A Swami‟s student from Ananthapur

Campus, Sri Sathya Sai University and devotee of

Baba, retired from active service on 29th June

2019. She rendered her valuable services as a

Teacher, as EHV Co-ordinator and Mentor to

Certificate Course Training Programs. She

expressed that she was fortunate to get to work in

Swami‟s institution for 30 years. Moreover, she is

a fantastic bhajan singer. On her last working day,

the Principal, the Vice-Principal and all the staff

shared their experiences and their long association

with her as a Teacher as a guardian and as a friend.

With mixed feelings they all bid farewell to her. In

her farewell address, she paid tribute to her

colleagues for their support and friendship, she

made the students realize that they are blessed to

study in Swami‟s institution and so they should

extend their help and services to the needy people.

Furthermore, she emphasized students to respect

and be loyal towards elders and urged them to pray

to Swamy to shower His blessings on all to be

good citizens of the country.

ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE STUDENTS

Karthik Teja, VI-B participated in

Awa Tournament of Table Tennis

and he secured 3rd position.

M. Sai Aapeksha, IX -A participated in the Inter-

Dojo-Karate Championship, Telangana State level

competition, conducted on 14th July 2019 at

Amberpet. She secured gold medal in Kumithi and

silver medal in Karate.

A Basketball match was conducted between Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar High School and Johnson

Grammar School in school premises in the month of May‟2019. Our school won the trophy.

SUMMER COURSE ON INDIAN CULTURE AND SPIRITUALITY

JUNE 13th to 15th for classes VIII and IX

The First day‟s session was commenced by

Dr. Krishna Kumar, Vice-President SSSO, Telangana, who spoke about the

“Importance of Spirituality in daily life.”

Sri. Adhi Raju, retired RBI Manager and a Counsellor, gave useful tips on “How to

overcome fear and develop Confidence” through his interesting talk to students.

Smt. N. P. Padmaja, Vice Principal of the school delivered a wonderful discourse on

“How to better our Attitude” to achieve success.

Sri. M. Sai Ramakrishna, Alumni of our school, gave a brief understanding about the

“importance of bhajans” in our life.

The following day the Principal , Mrs. Vasudha, began the session with a story highlighting the importance of “Time Management”. This was followed with the session by Mrs. K. Nagamani, faculty of SSSVVHS on “Proud to be an Indian”. Towards the end of the session,Sri. M.L.N. Swami spoke about the “Splendour of Sri Sathya Sai,” and Sri. Prashant spoke on “Art of Active listening.”

The final day, Sir Sriharinath, Balvikas Co-ordinator, spoke about “Benefits of Practicing Values

and Ethics,” followed by Mrs. Jaya Pattabhi Ram, a renowned Counsellor and Mrs. Naga Jyothi,

who stressed on “the importance Self Confidence; Prayers and Rituals.” The Inspiring three day

session was concluded by the convener of the school Sri. P. Gopi Krishna, who asked students to

express their thoughts and opinions about the camp.

Theme: „Sai Spiritual Yoga‟

International Day of Yoga, or commonly referred to as Yoga Day, is

celebrated annually on 21st June since its inception in the United Nations

General Assembly (UNGA) as proposed by our Prime Minister, Sri Narendra

Modi. Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice which originated in

India. The world observed the fifth annual International Yoga Day on June

21, Friday. This year, the theme for world yoga day was „Yoga for Heart‟.

Likewise, our school also celebrated World Yoga Day on 21st June 2019 in a

remarkable way with a unique theme „Sai Spiritual Yoga‟. On this occasion,

a momentous program was organized by Smt. Anuradha with the perfect

theme for the whole school.

The program began with the

marvelous speeches given by

the class IX students, L.Sindhu

and R Sindhuja, emphasizing

the importance of Yoga.

As the theme portrays,

different yoga postures were

done in this collective session

as per the theme. Like,

Sukshma Vyayama, Yoga

Asanas, Clapping Yoga

Therapy and Yoga Dance and

this all was carried out along

with the Sai Bhajans “Oh Sai

Maa”, “Hum tere Hai”, “Sai

Mere Sai” being played at the

background. Finally, the

program concluded with

“Laughing Yoga Therapy” and

the Special Asanas by class

fifth students.

It is a matter of pride for the

school that all the students and

the teachers actively

participated in this event and

they even shared their joyful

experience.

CANTEEN

The school canteen was inaugurated

and started functioning from 22nd

June 2019.

Graduation ceremony

The Graduation Day of Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar High School was celebrated on

28th June 2019 in a commendable way. The celebration commenced at 5:30pm in

the evening in the school auditorium with the arrival of the school graduates in their

formal attire adorned in convocation caps walked down the red carpet together with

great dignity. The occasion was graced by our beloved Baba, the honourable Chief

Guest Sri. M. Ramesh, IPS, the Members of Managing Committee who were

welcomed with Poornakumbham.

“Graduation is an exciting time. It is both an ending and a beginning. It is warm memories of the past and big dreams for the future”.

The ceremony was also attended by the parents of the school graduates.

This was followed by the auspicious lamp lighting ceremony, vedam and school prayer. Our Trust

Convener, Sri. H.J. Dora, requested our beloved Swami for the Declaration of Graduation Ceremony. The

Graduation Declaration was done by Swami himself.

The gathering was then addressed by the Principal, Smt. Vasuda, with the Welcome Address and reading

of the Annual Academic Report of school for the academic year 2018-19.

The Vice-Prinicipal, Smt. Padmaja, administered Oath to the school graduates.

This was followed by the most awaiting moment- The eminent dignitaries felicitated the school graduates

with medals and certificates which is a record for their sincere hardwork. The class-tenth handling

Teachers were also awarded for their meritorious work.

The phenomenal speeches by the Head-Boy, Master Rishith and the Head-girl Miss Jharna of 2018-19

class tenth batch, depicted their commitment to cherish the ideals of the school forever.

Sri. H. J. Dora, gave the presidential speech quoting this ceremony as the “function of

education.” Inspiring Convocation address was delivered by the honourable Chief Guest Sri

M. Ramesh, IPS, on the importance of pursuing what one is capable of rather than doing a bit

of everything. The Chief Guest also appreciated school graduates for showing interest to take

up Teacher‟s profession in future.

Sri. P. Gopi Krishna, Convener of school and Smt. G. Vasuda, Principal, presented a

memento to the Chief Guest as a token of love.

This was followed by the Divine discourse of Bhagwan Baba. All were mesmerized by

Swami‟s speech. The program concluded with Harathi to our beloved Swami and National

Anthem.

It was indeed a joyous and memorable evening.

STUDENTS COUNCIL ELECTIONS

The election for students‟ council was held on 27th June 2019. Students of classes VIII, IX & X contested for

different posts. Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar High School has been always inspired by the vision of Sri Sathya

Sai Baba that every child who comes to this temple of learning must learn to be person filled with

knowledge, fear of God, respect to the elders, respecting the rules and regulations of this education portal,

love and reverence to parents and love for the nation.

The campus of Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar High School has become an arena of campaigning for the student

council nowadays. The preliminary rounds for student council process had been making its way with zeal

and enthusiasm. The entire campus has been reverberating with lofty ideas and promises from the

prospective candidates. The lists of the proposed students were endless. To further the chances of their

selection and chances to win majority of votes, students left their mark through speeches. This was done with

a purpose for juniors to reflect and select the rightful candidate. The prospective candidates were given a

chance to display their candidature forte through various speeches.

The contestants left no stone

unturned to cast their spell on the

entire audience in the presence of

our school Principal Mrs. Vasuda.

Foreseeing the welfare of the

student‟s future to train them in

leadership skills. A democratic

voting procedure was set in pace

which ultimately formed the

School Student Council. Hence,

the mystery was unfolded to make

its history.

•The Investiture Ceremony of

Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar High

School, for the academic year

2019-20 was held on 4th July

2019, in a distinctive way at the

school premises with high degree

of fervor.

•The ceremony began at 11:00am

by lighting the auspicious lamp by

the dignitaries. This was followed

with the Vedam chanting and

school prayer by the school choir.

Sri. A.K. Khan (Retd. IPS) as the

Chief Guest of the ceremony and

Sri. S.V. Subba Rao, President of

the Alumni Association of Sri

Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar High

School (1981 batch) as the Guest

of the Day.

•The event was presided over by Sri. P. Gopi Krishna, Convenor of school, Smt. Ganga Indira ,

Managing Committee Member , Principal, Vice – Principal, and the parents of student council.

•The Principal, Mrs. Vasuda , gave the welcome address and welcomed honourable Chief Guest and

Guest of the Day for the prestigious occasion of our school.

•The contingents comprising of 1000 students representing 5 houses Sathya, Dharma, Shanti, Prema

and Ahimsa along with the teaching and non-teaching staff, witnessed the ceremony.

•The enthusiastic members of the cabinet marched with grandeur to the music played by the school

band.

• Master T. Kashyap was bestowed as the Head Boy and Miss K.Gamya was

bestowed as the Head Girl by our honourable Chief Guest,

Sri. A.K. Khan (Retd. IPS) . The deputies, house captains, sports captains, club-

wise captains and all the prefects were the other members of the student

council.

• Student council (Boys) were given badges by our honourable Chief Guest,

Sri. A.K. Khan (Retd. IPS) and by the eminent Guest of the day, Sri S.V. Subba

Rao and student council (Girls) were given badges by Smt.Ganga Indira.

• The School Flag was hoisted by the dignitaries.

•The honourable Guest of the Day, Sri. S.V. Subba Rao administered the Oath to the student -

council.

•The incredible speeches given by the Head Boy and the Head Girl clearly depicted the urge to

take up the responsibility with commitment and integrity. Sri. P. Gopi Krishna , Convener

congratulated the newly elected student council and gave an inspiring speech. He emphasized on

the values and guidance given by our great pilot-our beloved Swami and of having a fulfilling

experience of His morals .

• Sri A.K. Khan(Retd.IPS) the honourable Chief Guest, congratulated the newly elected Student Council. The

gathering was encouraged by his inspirational speech where he stressed on the significance of setting

priorities by the teachers as well as by the students.

•Mementos were presented to the honourable Chief Guest Sri. A.K. Khan(Retd.IPS) and to the honourable

Guest of the Day Sri. S.V.Subba Rao by the Principal and Convener of the school.

•The ceremony concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Smt. Sarika Kulkarni, it was followed by

Harathi to our beloved Swami and National Anthem.

•It was a memorable day for Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar High School.

10th Class Orientation Programme

Orientation programme was conducted for the present Class X

students (2019-20 batch) on 6th July 2019. The programme began at

9:00am with Jyothi Prajwalana followed by prayer and vedam

chanting. The Principal Smt. Vasuda presented the annual plan and

almanac for this year. This was followed by the advices and speech

of our convener Sri. P. Gopi Krishna by an interactive session. The

programme ended with Harathi to Swami.

IICT FIELD TRIP

On 12TH July 2019, Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar School arranged an educational field trip to the Indian Institute of Chemical

Technology. Along with two in-charge Teachers Smt Srilalitha and Sri Srinivas Rao, 80 students of class 9th visited the

institute.

Mr. Sanjay, the senior scientist briefed about the history of the institution and also about various research areas such as

Mass Spectroscopy, X-Ray Synthetic Aviation Pilot Plant, Biodigester Plant, Semio Chemicals, Waste Management Plant,

NMR, Edible oils, etc.

The students were divided into two groups. They were taken into a lab with powder X-Ray diffractometer where research

study on the structure of atoms was going on. Later, children were shown X-Ray Crystallography. The children were

explained about the structural bonding in the atoms and how a simple change brings about a drastic change in a paracetamol.

The research scholars also explained about Mass Spectrometry and its importance in calculating the mass of an element or a

compound, the molecular structure and molecular weight of a compound.

Later, the students were taken to a Lab

where Mass Spectrometry is used to

reduce pollutants. After that, the students

visited Synthetic Aviation Pilot Plant

where the chemical composition quality

and quantity of a chemical or any other

product is checked before launching its

formula.

From there, the students were taken to a

Pheromone Lab where the research

scientists explained about the pheromones,

their importance in eradicating the pests

without any toxic pollutants. It was quite

interesting. They also explained how to

grow colonies of insects and then

synthesize the controlling insects to

eradicate these pests.

Finally, the children were taken to a Water

Harvesting Plant “Meghdoot” which is

designed so amazingly by Maithri

Aquatech Pvt Ltd, - the atmospheric water

generator to capture atmospheric water

vapour with a capacity to absorb 1000

liters of water per day from the

atmosphere.

It was a very wonderful trip and highly

educative. Children felt very lively and

enthusiastically posed questions and

gathered a lot of information.

20th July 2019.

• BONALU• BONALU is one of the folk

festivals popular in the TelanganaState. The goddesses are worshipped and offered food, which is later shared among the family members.

• We celebrated Bonalu on 30th

July during the school Assembly. The class V students melodiously sang a song on Bonalu’simportance and also depicted the same with their extraordinary dance skills.

• Last but not the least, SaraswathiLaahani of class VII B gave a small exceptional speech on the importance of Bonalu in Telugu.

STUDENT CORNERRohit Gurunath Sharma was born on 30April 1987 in Bansod, Nagpur,Maharashtra. Sharma is an IndianInternational cricketer who is the vice-captain of the India national team inlimited-overs formats. He is a right-handedbatsman and was an occasional right-armoff break bowler. blood pressure, lowering bad cholesterol

levels and reducing risks of heart diseases.

improving digestive system. According to

immunity system due to its high amount of

vitamin-C and other Plant compounds.

Guava is magnesium rich fruit which act as

a muscle relaxant when consumed after a

workout and eases stress on a stressful day.

TALENT CORNER

After a long vacation the school reopened on June 12th for all the classes.

The school is ready to march forward for the academic year 2019-20

with many strategies.

Six new Teachers have joined the faculty this year.

There is a change in the school timings from 1st July, it is from 8:30am to

4:15pm. From 3:30pm to 4:15pm, it is remedial class.

Classes 8th and 9th also brought into mentoring system
