Ventilation system
First version of ventilation system based on 4 air handling units too expensive
Redesigned ventilation system including all duct-work, duct work routing based on a system with 1 AHU which provides Started 7. Jan. Clean room ventilation (approx. class 100k) Ventilation to rack area, control room, laser Partial rack cooling (low power racks)
Submitted to bidding companies (end of January) Expect answers from companies soon (no firm cost numbers yet, use
cost estimates to ID below) Ventilation system is a combination of several orders
Basic Air handling unit and ventilation system approx 500kCHF Control system Primary cooling Smoke detection Oxygen deficiency monitors Totals to approx. 600kCHF (to be confirmed)

Preparation of rail system under false floor
Require clearing some areas for installation of duct work of ventilation system
Use existing rails under false floor for routing and support of services (cables, fibres, etc) to assembly area

Detector macro assembly related preparations
Working at present on general detector related items Items are shared partially between sub systems

Floor All floor based on existing floor with max. load 500kg/m2 Based on panels 60x90cm2 Floor in clean area to be covered with anti-static sheet Part of assembly area needs to be reinforced for heavy items
(max. load 2000kg/m2) Two options studied at present with (a) reinforced panels (b)
support rails under existing floor

Rack Distribution Use existing racks from DELPHI (to be refurbished & checked)

This distribution is a proposal to be verified for functionality

Services outlets in clean area
All main supply/DAQ is located in rack area Foresee several different location for services outlets in
assembly & test area
SR1 ongoing work H.Pernegger 21/2/02
Gas distribution
Detector, environmental gas and leak tests (CO2,He) installed as technical gallery along full clean room along with compressed air
Defined location for inlets on outer walls, distribution & extraction still to be looked at

Time schedule (estimate)
Order of ventilation determines time schedule Assume
Order placed by mid March Delivery time for ventilation components approx. 2mo. , prepare
during this time installation drawings for duct work Start ventilation installation by mid May. Total time estimate (to be confirmed) approx. 4 months Installation of clean room walls several weeks after ventilation
starts Installation finishes by mid Sept.
Installation of detector related parts during this period (summer?) need to be coordinated with ST.
