To that end, structured wiring products provide connectivity throughout a home – allowing
us to share electronic equipment and exchange data through a series of connected
networks. Gone are the days of isolation where we used one device
from one fixed location. Your DVD player no longer needs
to be limited to the entertainment center in your
living room. Your printer can now be
used by more than one computer.
Structured wiring products are an
innovative breakthrough that will
increase the value and
convenience of
your home.
2
Recent technological advances have led to a whole new way
of wiring and networking a home, thus making our lives
more mobile, more flexible and more convenient.

required in each area of the home. Your
wiring requirements will depend upon
the components you select. The table
below will provide guidance when
designing your customized installation.
This points to some important opportunities for homeowners:
• Increasing demand for structured wiring productsmeans houses without these products will be lessdesirable for resale.
• It will soon be commonplace to see voice, data and video equipment networkedthroughout a home.
• Products are available to suit whatevernetworking needs you might have.
