I recently had the opportunity to meet with President Obama and Vice President Biden at The White House. Fourteen small business owners and I shared our visions, our journeys and our plans for the future with the

President and members of his team.

I was thrilled with the opportunity to tell our story, and started at the beginning, some twenty years ago, when my husband Peter and I sold our first

pairs of Dansko shoes out of the back of our station wagon. Today we are 185

employee-owners strong, changing the quality of people’s lives through our

products, our passion, and our commitment to a better tomorrow.

As I traveled home to Pennsylvania, I felt both proud and inspired. Proud of the

journey Dansko is on and inspired that, as a 100% employee owned company,

Dansko will grow, broaden and expand in the very hands of the folks that

brought it this far – it’s employees. Sustainability and shared prosperity for all

has never felt more important.

On the following pages you’ll have the opportunity to meet some members of

our team and hear about their favorite styles and colors for spring. We hope

you will enjoy all that this spring collection has to offer. There’s something for

every moment of your day (and night!). There are so many to choose from; maybe you’ll have several favorites…we do!

For the past several months I have spent much of my time working with the team at Dansko to put the finishing touches to our new 200,000 sq. foot distribution center. Located minutes from our gold LEED® certified HQ in southeastern Pennsylvania, we now have KIVA® robots to assist our staff in getting our shoes to our retail partners as quickly as possible and in perfect condition for you. Our building was developed with concern for the environment front-of-mind. Green features of our new space include:

• Auto controlled dimming lighting with occupancy sensors• Carpet, counters and flooring made from recycled materials• Pervious paving to reduce water run-off• Locally fabricated cabinets and counters
