Your task is to identify which system/type of long term memory is operational in which part of the story. After identification, you are also required to justify your identification as well. Furthermore; 1. Give your answers in the table given below only. If assignment will not be attempted in the given tabular format, marks will be deduced. 2. Do not copy the words of handouts or internet while writing your justification; otherwise no marks will be awarded. “Since his childhood, Ali has always been intrigued by roller skates. He has always wanted to learn how to use roller skates. When he was 10 years old, he purchased a set of roller skates and started learning how to ride on them. After 1 year, Ali was able to ride on roller skates without any difficulty. He was very happy with this achievement. Daily, he used to go with his friends  Asim and Mohid along the same route from his home to the nearb y garden and back home. That route was deeply enrooted in Ali’s mind.

    Dear Students, Given below is a short story in which different systems/types of long term memory have been discussed within the life context of the same individual.     Since his childhood, Ali has always been intrigued by roller skates. He has always wanted to learn how to use roller skates. When he was 10 years old, he purchased a set of roller skates and started learning how to ride on them. After 1 year, Ali was able to ride on roller skates without any difficulty. He was very happy with this achievement. Daily, he used to go with his friends

    Asim and Mohid along the same route from his home to the nearby garden and back home. That route was deeply enrooted in Alis mind.

  • One day, while he was riding the skates, he faced a major accident and was severely injured. Following that accident, he was frightened to ride on roller skates for about 2 years. He always

    remembered each and every detail of that accident and was always terrified to recall that incident. Finally, he thought to get rid of his fear and rode the roller skates after 2 years. He was pleasantly surprised to see that even after 2 years, he still remembered how to ride roller skates.

    That day was the day of his victory over his fears.

    Marking scheme:

    1 mark for identification of system/type of long term memory

    1 mark for identification of the correct event where that memory has been involved

    3 marks for justification i.e. how is the chosen type of long term memory justified for the chosen event
