This education activity will be submitted to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners for approval of up to 12 contact hours of accredited education. This program is not yet approved for CME credit. Conference organizers plan to request 12 AAPA Category 1 CME credits from the AAPA Review Panel. The total number of approved credits is yet to be determined.

Cindy Cooke, DNP, APRN, FNP, FAANP

Dr. Cindy Cooke is a family nurse practitioner from Huntsville, AL. She has spent the bulk of her NP career caring for active duty and retired military service members and their families at an US Army primary care clinic as a primary care provider. Dr. Cooke also served as the Sexual Assault Clinical Provider for the Redstone Arsenal, AL community. She has served local and state associations as a board member and past president. Dr. Cooke was an inaugural member of the steering committee to Improve Diagnosis and remains a participant of this group working on curriculum development for interdisciplinary education through a Macy Grant coalition. She is also a past president of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and remains active in AANP as well as her local and state NP associations. She is married and has 2 adult children as well as 4 grandsons. Dr. Cooke is now honored to be adjunct faculty at the University of Mary in the MSN-DNP program.

Melanie Schlittenhardt, DNP, APRN, FNP, CUNP

Dr. Melanie Schlittenhardt completed her education at the University of Mary earning a Doctor of Nursing Practice. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Urology Nurse Practitioner. Her primary area of advanced practice is pelvic health. She is the founder of a nurse practitioner owned and operated clinic called Pelican Health. She has been an adjunct instructor at the University of Mary since 2005. Melanie’s areas of expertise include urinary and fecal incontinence, urodynamic testing, InterStim therapy and pessary fittings. Melanie is a member of the Society of Urologic Nursing, American Nurses Association, and North Dakota Nurse Practitioner Association. She speaks in areas of her expertise on a local and regional level. She is a published author in Urologic Nursing.

Cameron Charchenko, MD

Dr. Cameron Charchenko is an urologist in Bismarck, North Dakota and is affiliated with CHI St. Alexius Health. His undergraduate studies are from the University of Mary and his medical degree from University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Dr. Charchenko completed a general surgery internship, urology residency, and minimally invasive urologic surgery fellowship at Mayo clinic. He has been the recipient of many awards and is a member of the American Medical Association, Mayo Fellows Association, and the American Urologic Association.

Carey Rivinius, DNP, APRN, FNP

Carey Rivinius DNP, FNP-C is a healthcare provider in Elgin, ND at Jacobson Memorial Hospital, a Critical Access Hospital and Level 5 trauma center. Dr. Rivinius is a member of the facility’s trauma and stroke committees and an adjunct faculty for the University of Mary. She serves as the Grant County Coroner and has worked in rural health her entire career. She received her BSN from the University of Jamestown in 2001 and MSN and FNP degree from the University of Mary in 2008. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in 2016 from Frontier Nursing University. Dr. Rivinius is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and is a current member. She is a member and past president of the North Dakota Nurse Practitioner Association and a member of the ND Colorectal Cancer Roundtable Steering Committee. Dr. Rivinius was a Rural Health Fellow for the National Rural Health Association in 2018. She recently presented on rural health at the AANP Health Policy Conference in Washington, D.C. and has presented in Omaha, NE about the use of telemedicine in rural hospitals and at the AHA Mission Lifeline Cardiac and Stroke workshop regarding management of the acute coronary syndrome patient in rural health. Carey has been invited to be a part of a telehealth advisory discussion panel for the AANP in Indianapolis in June 2019.

Sara Wiedrich, MSN, APRN, FNP, CDE

Sara Wiedrich is a family nurse practitioner who

specializes in the management of diabetes at the CHI St.

Alexius Heart and Lung Clinic. She has special interest in

insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring

as well as the overall management of both type 1 and

type 2 diabetes.

Sara obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing from the

University of Mary in 2012. She is certified by the

American Association of Nurse Practitioners and by the

National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators. She

is a member of the American Association of Nurse

Practitioners, the North Dakota Nurse Practitioner

Association and the American Diabetes Association.

Sara lives in Bismarck ND with her husband Jesse and 2

boys, Cole and Mason.

Allison Lesmann, DNP, APRN, FNP

Allison Lesmann, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, is a certified family nurse

practitioner specializing in children’s health. Born and raised in

Minot, ND, she received her registered nurse training in western

North Dakota and practiced at Thomason Hospital, El Paso, TX

and at Trinity Health, Minot, ND before earning her master’s in

advanced nursing practice from the University of Mary. She later

completed a doctorate in nursing practice from College of St.

Scholastica, Duluth, MN. She is a member of the American

Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the North Dakota Nurse

Practitioners Association, and the American Academy of

Pediatrics. She also participates in the cleft lip and palate clinic

through the North Dakota Department of Health. She has

certifications in ACLS, PALS, and basic life support. Allison has

a husband and three sons, with outside interests in high school

sporting events and walking.

Tara Feil, PhD, Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Tara Feil is a clinical psychologist with Archway Mental

Health Services at CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck, ND.

Sheprovides psychotherapy for individuals with a range of

mental health concerns and enjoys speaking to community

groups and organizations about science-based ways to

increase well-being and maximize personal and professional

success.

Quinn Stein, MS, CGC

Quinn Stein is the Director of the Augustana-Sanford Genetic

Counseling Graduate Program at Augustana University. There, he

is an Associate Professor and developed and instructs the follow-

ing courses: Genomics & Business, Genetic Counseling I and IV,

and Genetics in Medicine I and II. Quinn is a North Dakota native,

who has called Sioux Falls home for 19 years. Prior to his role at

Augustana, he was the Senior Genetic Counselor at Sanford

Health. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University

of Jamestown, majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry and

Religion. He holds a master’s degree in Medical Genetics-Genetic

Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His profes-

sional interests include pediatric/metabolic genetics, rare disease,

genetics in primary care, workforce development, and gene-

surance counseling. Quinn has published numerous articles on topics such as hereditary cancer,

autism, obesity, newborn screening, genetic diseases in the Hutterite population, billing-

reimbursement, and on several rare genetic disorders. He has earned grants to establish a pedi-

atric hearing loss clinic and to help study rare diseases diagnosed by newborn screening. He is

also a member of the Inborn Errors of Metabolism Collaborative (IBEMC), a national newborn

screening research group working toward the development of evidence-based treatment proto-

cols for children diagnosed with rare metabolic conditions.

Quinn served as Vice Chair of the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) annual confer-

ence in Boston in 2012 and Chair of the same conference in Anaheim for 2013. He sat on the

NSGC Board of Directors in 2014-2015 and continues to find ways to give back to the profession

he loves. He holds professional certification from the American Board of Genetic Counselors and

is licensed by the South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners, holding Genetic

Counselor License #0001. He enjoys his family, baseball, and sitting in rocking chairs. He toler-

ates running, cycling, and landscaping. Quinn is also president of Blue Goat Capital, a very small

but fun investment club.

Linda Wolf, MS, LCGC

Linda Miller Wolf is a genetic counselor who works in the Internal

Medicine Department with Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND. She

is a Bismarck native and is delighted to be able to practice her

profession in her home town. She sees patients for inherited

cancer risk assessment, assists providers in coordinating genetic

testing for their patients and meets with patients to discuss

results of a variety of genetic testing. Prior to joining Sanford

Health, Linda spent almost 10 years providing genetic counseling

services with the Michigan State University Human Genetics

Dept. Her responsibilities included general genetics clinic,

Huntington’s disease clinic and the breast cancer clinic as well as

coordinating several outreach clinics on a monthly basis. She

received her Bachelors of Science degree from the University of

North Dakota and her master’s degree in Medical Genetics-

Genetic Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

She enjoys working with patients to bring a better understanding of genetics, genetic testing and how

these can impact their lives. She is certified by the American Board of Genetic Counselors and licensed

by the North Dakota Board of Medicine in genetic counseling. She is a member of the National Society

of Genetic Counselors. She enjoys following her children’s activities (hockey, Science Olympiad,

baseball), hiking, biking and birdwatching with her husband, as well as being creative with fiber in the

form of spinning and knitting.

Arielle Flynn, MS, LCGC

Arielle Flynn is a prenatal genetic counselor who works in the

Maternal Fetal Medicine division of Sanford Health’s Women’s

Medical Center in Bismarck, ND. In addition to seeing prenatal

patients, Arielle also works with preconception and recurrent

pregnancy loss patients. She has a special interest in direct-to-

consumer genetic testing.

Arielle obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Dordt

College in 2012 and her Masters of Science in Genetic Counseling

from the Augustana-Sanford Genetic Counseling Graduate

Program in 2018. She is certified by the American Board of

Genetic Counselors and licensed by the North Dakota Board of

Medicine. She is a member of the National Society of Genetic

Counselors.
