Campus EventsFrom March 12 through March 16, Phi Mu collaborated with other Bellarmine greek organizations Alpha Delta Gamma and Delta Sigma Pi for BU’s first annual Greek Week. It was wonderful to see all of the greek groups wearing the same “Keep Calm and Go Greek” t-shirt, but in their group’s respective colors. Throughout the week, we enjoyed hanging out with ADG and DSP for a Bingo and Movie Night, attending the BU Basketball game, playing an exciting round of kickball at Joe Creason Park, Delta Sigma Pi’s entertaining Date Auction Fundraiser, and more.

Teacher Appreciation Dinner

On April 1, Rho Zeta welcomed all of their mothers to attend the special Mother Pinning ceremony. We were able to enjoy a wonderful array of desserts and the special time we get to share with our moms! Thanks to all who attended!

It’s always important to give thanks to those who help us succeed, so that’s why we honor our professors every spring! The Annual Teacher Appreciation Dinner went wonderfully on April 12 in the Norton Health Science Center Lobby. The lobby was decorated with pink and white balloons, scattered around with candy, and even featured a hand-painted Phi Mu banner.

Marissa L., Claire Y., Catie M., Marina B., Edie C., and Brittany S. joined with the teachers to enjoy a delicious pasta dinner and giving away raffle gifts. During the dinner, the Rho Zeta girls spoke about Phi Mu, both nationally and as a local chapter, sharing some special stories with the Bellarmine teachers . The first and second highest nominated teachers were awarded a special gift of Pink Carnation Pens, and every teacher went home with a Certificate of Appreciation and a hand-written thank you card from one of the Rho Zeta girls. We are pleased to announce that we had 100% attendance from the 33 nominated teachers and we cannot wait for next spring to do it all over again!

Third Dimension Ceremony 2012Being a part of Phi Mu allows for a woman to go through three different dimensions, the first being when they are a Phi and are a provisional member before initiation. The second dimension is when they are an active member of the chapter. The third dimension, however, is when the Phi Mu woman graduates, becoming an alumna of the chapter.

Rho Zeta celebrated our departing members on April 22 at our annual Third Dimension Ceremony. Kat Labertew, Brittany Strohmeier, Abby Murdock, and Molly McMillin have graduated from Bellarmine, and Abby Naville made it into the Early Entry Physical Therapy program, where she is able to skip her senior year of undergraduate studies and begin working on her doctorate. Thank you all for wonderful memories. We will miss you all so much but know that you all will do so wonderfully in whatever you choose to do.
