Baby Classes (12-24 months)

Music to My Ears

In this class, activities introduce your baby to the fun and artistic foundations of music. Using Wingspan’s model of engaging professional artist-educators, this class will be

led by a working musician with a gift for sharing his/her art with young people...and their parents!

Pre-K (ages 3 - 5)

Storytime TheatreIn this unique class, students explore the elements of sto-ries, such as character, setting, plot, and conflict through dramatic activities and visual arts. Students also develop the skills and techniques of storytelling through individual and ensemble creative play. To showcase what they have

learned, students work together to create their own stories, respond to timeless classics, and apply their experiences to

perform an original theatre piece.

MUSICAL MANIA“5, 6, 7, 8!” Get ready for a song, theatre, and dance ex-perience like you have never had before. This class will explore musical theatre, dance and music – and prepare you for the Mini-Musical down the road. Not only will

you get the chance to work on your turns and time-steps and acting, but you will also work on creating your own

original songs!

PLAYWRITING

Join Playwriting and bring your stories to the stage! In this class students will discover the excitement of playwriting as they bring plot, character, theme and more to life in the lime-

light. After an introduction to the basics of dramatic theory and playwriting process, students will have the opportunity to write

and perform their own theatrical masterpiece!

SCENE STUDY

This class is for the seasoned actor and the enthusiastic beginner. Students will be assigned scenes from published plays to work on with other students. In the class we will learn how to break down a scene into beats, identify ob-

jectives and tactics, and how to effectively use blocking to tell the story of the scene. Class will culminate in a scene

share for invited friends and families.

Limited EngagementAt some point in your theatre career you will be cast in a reading or workshop, so get your feet wet here! In this class we will rehearse a full musical for just a few short weeks, and end in an invited workshop performance of

the show with scripts in hand. No sets, no costumes. The challenge in this work is finding a way to bring the same energy, enthusiasm and focus that you would for a full production. Class culminates in an invited reading.
