Spring 2019 EVENTS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fossil Hunting Field Trip – Sunday, May 5, 2019, 11am – 2 pm Find your own fossils on a guided trip to Big Brook Preserve in Colts Neck, NJ with Rutgers University geologists. This site is famous for its prolific marine fossils. Ringing Rocks Field Trip – Saturday, May 18, 2019, 11am – 2 pm Visit one of the mysteries of the geologic world with a trip to Ringing Rocks Park. We will explore the sevenacre site with Rutgers geologists and enjoy the sounds of a real ‘rock’ concert! Late Nights Held on the first Wednesday of each month. Come to the museum to enjoy activity stations for children and adults alike from 4 pm 8 pm. These events are free and open to visitors of all ages! February 6 th 2019 Egypt Get wrapped up in our Egypt night as we explore ancient Egyptian culture and learn about mummies! March 6 th 2019 Extinctions Join us for an evolutionthemed night and learn about the “Big Five” Extinctions and how they caused Earth’s ecosystems to change through time! April 3 rd 2019 Geologic Time Take a step back into “deep time” and discover some of the awesome events that have occurred during Earth’s 4.5 billion year history! May 1 st 2019 Environmental Technology Learn how scientists use new and exciting technologies to study and solve important environmental issues! Birthday Parties If your child loves dinosaurs, fossils, rocks & minerals, nature, or science, celebrate their next birthday at the Rutgers Geology Museum! We offer geologicthemed birthday parties on Saturdays and Sundays for kids of all ages! Choose from two packages: Standard Party Includes two arts & crafts activities and a scavenger hunt. Paint Along Party Includes a 1.5 hour stepbystep guided instruction of a natural history themed painting and a scavenger hunt.
