This week at OEC was full of joy and positivity. Molly and Morgan, our counseling interns, pose above with students on their final day. Tymir and Emanuel are looking sharp in their suits at the 8th grade dance above and to the left, moms and first graders enjoy our Mother’s Day Tea. Best Practices

Great job to Ms. Leon for being a presenter during our career day and for encouraging students to extend the discussion and enrich it by creating their own future dreams and goals. Virtually all students were engaged and I thank you!

Our K-2 Team will be visiting Clara Barton Elementary on Monday to identify best practices and reflect on effectiveness of instructional activities used. Teachers will identify specific ways our instruction is similar to CB, different, and how we can collaborate. I encourage other teams to schedule visits 4x/year next year to see other schools. Let’s put these on our calendar!

Ms. Weiss-Cohen did an excellent job of creating a culture of learning by bringing in a wide variety of career day speakers. Students indicated through their questions and comments a desire to understand more about potential careers. As well, the passion communicated by our speakers was contagious. Great job Ms. Weiss-Cohen!

Gentle reminder to all staff to kindly refer to the end of year close out list provided by Ms. Presser on Friday. Summer Work packets are quickly approaching. When determining what work should be provided over the summer, ensure it is meaningful and relevant.

Moment of the Week!

Students did something new this year at the 8th grade dance. They conversed with Ms. Mullen before the start of the dance and decided to present awards to every single one of their classmates. Students asked Ms. Mullen to get party favors around the Hollywood Theme and then distributed positive awards to each of their classmates. This type of culture of care and concern is what OEC is ALL about. Great job kids!
