CCA Friend RecognitionsPlease join us in congratulating all our Chandler 100 Volunteer Recognition nominees:

Ruth Anderson, Jeanette Bassett, Jim Gould, GarWen Jackson, Janet McNaught, Molly Solares and Lois Zozobrado

Special congratulations go to Lois Zozobrado who performed at the

event and was the winner of the Youth Award. Great job, Lois!

Other Volunteer NewsFriends’ volunteer and Steering Committee member Jim Gould has a granddaughter who is quite the local celebrity! Young Charlotte is the entrepreneur and philanthropist behind Stiches by Charlotte, creating dolls specifically for children undergoing medical procedures and surgeries She was featured on Fox News recently Way to go Charlotte! And congrats to proud grandpa Jim!

Friends CareIt is always nice to hear from your friends when you have great news to celebrate, sad news to share or when you are out due to illness Friends’ volunteer GarWen Jackson is our Friends Care Coordinator, and she has many of you on the “care team” who send out cards to fellow volunteers This is a great way to let others know you are thinking about them, and it really makes a difference! During the terrible cold and flu season this past winter, I received this note to pass along to all of you:

“I’d like to thank all my Volunteer friends for the cards you sent while I was fighting the worst cold of my life (that I can ever remember). They really cheered me up when I was feeling so down.

Thanks, and I really missed working with all of you.” - Barbara Troia

If you would like to help GarWen with sending out cards as part of the “care team,” please let her know!

Isn’t The Circus Over Yet?!A note of thanks from our Assistant Manager:

I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge all of the efforts, big and small, from the staff who worked to make this year’s Zoppe circus the most successful one ever. It is truly a team effort to pull off an event of this size and complexity. I can’t thank all of you enough for all of your hard work, ingenuity, and overall good cheer despite long days, the flu/cold season, and yet another year of circus music. :)

Again, thank you all for an overwhelmingly great run.

CCA Staff Gives BackSee if you can pick out the faces of our CCA staff in this photo from a special work day in February! Thanks to everyone who helped transform Navarette Park in February My hope today was that each of us would expand our view of Community Services beyond our own division and see the larger team that we play a role in We accomplished this

Our department provides services and programs that reach into every home in Chandler For those living in those homes, we are the faces of our City And as you can see in this photo, our faces are wonderful!

For all you do, every day, all year long, you will be in my heart forever

Brenda Brown Community Services Director City of Chandler
