GENERAL INFORMATION
Residency Requirement: All unmarried, full -time
students are required to reside in University housing
during their first two years of enrollment unless they
are at least 21 years of age, and/or living with their
parent or guardians in their primary family homes,
within a 50 mile radius of the University's campus.
Students Studying Abroad in the Fall 2017 semester are
not eligible to participate in Room Selection.
* Please note we are unable to reserve spaces for
students returning from Study Abroad in Spring 2018.*
ELIGIBILITY/ REQUIREMENTS
Fill out your housing forms:
- 2017-2018 Returning Student Housing & Dining Pref. Form
- 2017-2018 Undergraduate Housing & Dining Agreement Form
Pay $300 Housing Deposit to Cashiers
- In person (Cash, Check, Money Order, Credit/Debit Card)
- Via check in mail (Payable to: Marywood University)

If you have registered for Fall 2017 you will see:
- If you qualify for residence in the Woodlands Residences (as well
as the day and your estimated start time for Woodland
Residence selection for those interested in the Woodlands option)
- Your day and time of arrival for participation in
General Room Selection based on your completed credits (as of Fall
2016)
*If you are in a group that plans on l iv ing together in a mult iple occupancy
space, then you would attend Room Select ion during the t ime slot designated
for whichever person in your group has the highest number of completed
credits as of the Fal l 2016 semester.*

March 31 st, 4:30 PM: Deadline for Room Encore and Themed Housing
Forms/ Priority Deadline for students requesting housing accommodations

April 11 th, 8:00-10:00 PM- Open House of Upperclassmen Residences

ROOM SELECTION MAP
Upon arrival during your designated time, please have a seat in the seating in front of the projection screen and wait until your name is called.
When your name is called, please go to the Check -In table with all of your housing forms.
After checking-in go to the first table on your right to get your room selection label. At this time, you will circle the meal plan that you want for the 2017-2018 academic year.
After receiving your label and selecting your meal plan, please browse through the tables with the room forms on them and select a room that best matches your preferences.
*Please note—once you select a room, you cannot remove your label from that room form. All selections are final until after the Room Selection Process is over.*
After making your selection, please exit the room selection area to the right.
WHEN ATTENDING ROOM SELECTION
DIFFERENT PROCESSES/
FORMS
Process that enables residents to request to return to their current room location for the 2017-2018 academic year
Criteria:
- Space must be available (Loughran Hall , rooms suited with RA rooms, Woodland Graduate Residences, Woodland Residences containing RA rooms, and ADA rooms are inel igible to be room encored for the 2017 -2018 academic year)
- At least one applicant must currently be a resident of the requested location. Applications can only be submitted for the room in which the applicant(s) reside - not rooms adjoined by a bathroom. If two current residents of the room apply for Room Encore separately, then preference wil l be given to the current occupant with the highest number of completed credits as of the Fal l 2016 semester.
- Al l spaces within the room must be fi l led, such as two people for a double occupancy room or five people for the deluxe suites in Madonna Hall. Spaces cannot be reserved for students studying abroad for the Fal l 2017 semester.
- The Room Encore Application along with signed housing forms for al l applicants must be submitted by 4:30PM on Friday, March 31, 2017.
ROOM ENCORE
Please keep in mind:
- Submission of a Room Encore Application does not guarantee
approval. Students who are not approved for Room Encore should
plan on participating in General Room Selection process occurring
April 25-27, 2017.
- All students approved for Room Encore must be registered for Fall
2017 courses in order to retain the housing assignment; failure to
register for courses by 5:00 PM on Friday, April 21, 2017 will result
in removal from housing and the open space will be offered at the
general room selection.
- Students who participated in Room Encore will be notified of
their placement status by April 19, 2017 via their Marywood
email.
ROOM ENCORE, CONT.
- Students who submit all required documentation for the Room
Encore process and then ask for a dif ferent placement will NOT
be eligible to select another space until after Room Selection is
over.
- Students who are participating in Study Abroad or similar
programs for the Fall 2017 semester are NOT eligible to
participate in the Room Encore process. Spaces cannot be
reserved for students that will be returning to on -campus
housing for the Spring 2018 semester.
- Residential students are required to have a full -time, 12 or
more credit, course load in order to move in to 2017 -2018
housing assignments.

Interested in l iving with other students that share a common interest with you? Start a Themed Housing Community!
Past Themed Housing Communities include Wellness, Big House Christian Living, Environmental Stewardship, Green Living, and Service.
The housing placements depend on your group's needs and membership. In the past, communities have been located in Madonna Hall, Regina Hall, and the Woodland Residences.
How to apply:
- Fil l out a Themed Housing Community Application (1 per group) and turn in by 4:30 PM on March 31, 2017.
- Each member: Fil l out 2 housing forms, pay $300 housing deposit, and register for Fall 2017 courses
*Only students listed on the application will be eligible to live in the community, if the theme is selected.*
*Submission of a Themed Housing Community Application does not guarantee approval.
THEMED HOUSING
If you are unable to attend Room Selection at your designated
time, you are able to select someone to be a Proxy for you and
select your room for you.
That person will attend Room Selection during your designated
time and will need to bring with them: Proxy Form, Your Housing
and Dining Preference Form, Your Housing and Dining Agreement
Form.

March 31, 2017 is the priority deadline for students requesting
housing accommodations due to a documented
disability. Requests received after March 31st will be considered;
however, advance notice is preferred whenever possible in order
to evaluate student requests thoroughly.
