    SUMMER 2014

    GREEK WEEK!!!!

Philanthropy This year we hosted a St. Judes Childrens Hospital Charity Fair with Tau Kappa

Epsilon in which we raised money through carnival themed games to donate to the

hospital. We participated in the Walk For Beauty in Stony Brook Village, and raised money for the Strides Breast Cancer Walk at

Jones Beach! Our annual Birch Auction was a huge success, thanks to Public Relations

Chair, Stephanie Chocko. A new philanthropy was introduced by Nicole Davis:

The Water Project! We raised money to donate to this non-profit organization in order to assist in supplying clean and sustainable

water sources in suffering Sub-Saharan African regions.

Sisterhood Sisterhood chair to the sorority, Stephanie Chocko

was able to plan many exciting sister socials that strengthened bonds between active members. These

included repainting our rocks and SIS dinners together. Steph was even able to plan a photo shoot

around the Wang Center fountain for any sister available to participate!

    SUMMER 2014

Accomplishments This semester brought along many

accomplishments and firsts in Beta Chapter

History! Some of our beautiful sisters, including

Tayisha St. Vil, Irene Zhang, and Julie Lavalliere

were inducted into the Order of Omega Greek

Honor Society. After placing 1st place in Greek

Week, SIS was also awarded the New Member

Class Scholarship Award for our Phi class having

the highest pledge class GPA on campus!

Greek Week This years Greek Week was a cultural experience since the theme this time was around the world!

Thanks to Social Chair Roshni Sondhi, we paired up with Phi Chi Epsilon and MALIK Fraternity to

compete in the weeks fun filled activities. We placed first in Greek Week!!!!! Roshni Sondhi and Joy

Huang competed in pageant this year impressing all with their bodacious bods, and Tayisha St. Vil

impressed everyone with her question and answer session. The group talent performance was a huge

success! Needless to say we had a great time participating and look forward to competing again next

    year!

    SUMMER 2014

    A letter from the President

Greetings to all of the divine SISters of Sigma Iota Sigma! What an eventful year this has been for the Beta Chapter! With hard work and

dedication of our heart, time, and energy we have conducted and upheld the values of this organization to the best of our ability. We have upheld our scholastic goal by receiving highest GPA recognition for our Phi class, attained 1st place in Greek Week, extending our network by

creating new connections with other non-Greek organizations, introducing a new philanthropy: The Water Project, and etc. However, with success comes obstacles, and we have overcome some of these obstacles with the help of our wonderful active chapter, and of course with the advice of wise alumni. With this being said, I would personally like to give my thanks to all the alumni support we have received, and

moving ahead the Beta chapter looks forward to improving alumni relations, which is definitely a priority. We ask that you all come and participate in our SISter retreat that will be held on September 6th to bridge gaps, embrace positive energy, address dissatisfaction, and

celebrate our sisterhood. Exact details are still being worked on and will be shared when the time comes! Until then, I hope you all have a

wonderful summer and I anticipate more joyous memories with you all!

    With Sisterly love,

    #125 Holmes Tayisha Saint Vil
