About the FounderChris Gabrelcik is one of a select few in the entire world that holds both titles of Certified Lubrication Specialist (CLS) and Oil Management Analysis (OMA). He is also a member of the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE), and Association of Diesel Specialists (ADS). He attends annual STLE and ADS conferences to remain informed on the latest scientific advances and studies available to the industry. He successfully began Lubrication Specialties, Inc. in 1997, and since the development of Hot Shot’s Secret The Original Stiction Eliminator in 2004, his company has grown rapidly and continues to do so as he strives to bring forward the highest quality products possible to his customers. Stic•tion [stik-shǝn] (noun)Stiction is the gummy, sticky residue of caked-on oil varnish that builds-up inside diesel injectors over time. Symptoms include: hard starts, hesitation, excessive black smoke, poor acceleration, and rough idling.

Injector DesignsTo increase efficiency, diesel engine manufacturers have increased the pressure at the tip of the injector. Older engines are in the 2000-4000 psi range, where the new diesel engines are as high as 35,000 psi. This increase in pressure atomizes the diesel fuel and provides for a better and more efficient burn (more power, less particulates).
Why Injectors FailUnfortunately, there are some problems that come with this injector design improvement. Higher pressures and higher temperatures have a burning effect on the engine’s oil. The engine oil is used as hydraulic fluid to push the injector plunger which in turn pushes out the diesel fuel and atomizes it. Over time, a thin layer of oxidized oil shows up as sluggish acceleration. As times goes on, it actually stops the injector from working completely. This is the point at which the injector needs replaced.
Oil fired (hydraulic) injectors, use the motor oil to activate the injector. Oil bathed injectors, the motor oil is used to lubricate the injectors. Electronic Injectors, the motor oil never touches the injectors.
While the motor oil in electronic injectors never touches the injectors themselves, Stiction Eliminator will still clean everything the oil comes in contact with including the stiction build up on the turbo, rings, and oil pump. With non hydraulic injectors, it is strongly recommend-ed to use both Stiction Eliminator AND Diesel Extreme for a complete internal cleaning which will provide the most significant results.

Recommended: For the most effective results, we recommend using Stiction Eliminator with a synthetic oil, like Blue Diamond, although it is not necessary. After the initial clean up, use a half dose every third oil change for preventative maintenance. (Preventative maintenance dose: 1 qt. bottle for pick-ups trucks,2 qt. bottle for semi-trucks). It is safe to use the prevention dosage for maintenance purposes even if there are no current symptoms of stiction.
Stiction Eliminator will clean other parts of the engine as well. The additives in Stiction Eliminator will remove the deposits in the engine and turbo and thus allow them to work more efficiently. The additives will also fortify your existing oil and help it to work more effectively.

How to Repair Failing InjectorsA treatment of Hot Shot’s Secret Stiction Eliminator is the best solution for a failing injector. Stiction Eliminator has been tested since 2004 and has been found to be effective in restoring injectors and turbos. During its testing, trucks having performance problems were hooked up to a diagnostic comput-er and tested. The computer showed anywhere from 1 to 6 injectors needing to be replaced. Stiction Eliminator was then added to the engine oil. The trucks were run about 100 miles and the computers were retested. 90% of the time, all the injectors tested OK. The owners noticed more power, and a smoother running engine. The other 10% of the trucks when tested showed improvement in injector function and performance, but not a complete cure.

Recommended: Friction Reducer works immediately in ALL engine automatic transmissions, power-steering pumps, differentials, and hydraulic systems.
The metal in a machine is nearly always positively charged while Friction Reducer is negatively charged. Attachment of a thin layer of Friction Reducer to all metals is natural and not dependent upon temperature, pressure or anything else; except that there must be oil circulation to establish a layer of Friction Reducer on the metal. Friction Reducer has absolutely no effect on the metal itself. It is not an extreme pressure agent, so it will NOT corrode the surface of metal as do other chlorinated or sulfurized oil additives. Use at a rate of 5% Friction Reducer. However, if you are interested in seal and O-ring protection, use Friction Reducer at 7.5%. Do not exceed this dosage. You can use Friction Reducer to treat any oil-lubricated system except air conditioning and aircraft. Even though Friction Reducer is an industrial product, you’ll find that small two cycle engines love it. Just add Friction Reducer to your oil before mixing it with the fuel. Your automobile, light truck or other personal vehicles will benefit from Friction Reducer in the engine, power steering unit, automatic or manual transmission and differential. The Ford Power Stroke 6.0 liter requires 1.5 quarts of Friction Reducer to make the transmission shift smoother and more efficiently.

When a sufficient amount of esters are added to oil, the result is that the oil becomes as slippery as esters themselves. KS Diesel Extreme is a concentrated cetane improver which also contains a highly effective
fuel stability package. It will tremendously upgrade power and performance in all diesel equipment, increase mileage and provide maintenance economy. Storage stability of fuels will be greatly increased and diesel engines will be kept in a much cleaner and mainte-nance-free condition. In addition, Diesel Extreme has a stabilizing system to improve storage stability that will prevent polymerization and breakdown of hydrocarbons which results in gum and sludge formation. The dispersant contained prevents insoluble residues from forming, which are sometimes produced when mixing fuels from different sources. Corrosion is prevented by an inhibitor which produces a protective non-deposit-forming film on metal surfaces in the fuel system and a neutralizer, which neutralizes corrosive acids that are formed during combustion.
Diesel Extreme will improve cetane in the fuel giving it a smoother, less erratic pressure buildup in the combustion chamber during the ignition delay period, which occurs between injection and ignition. Controlling this pressure buildup eliminates the potential damage to piston rings and rod bearings. Power and fuel economy is increased as fuel burns more evenly and cleanly. Misfiring is controlled.
When ignition improves, emissions are reduced and noise levels are lowered. Control of the pressure buildup allows more complete burning of the refractive molecules in the fuel, which steal power and produce deposits and wear. Cetane improvement gives quicker starts and faster warm-up at cold temperatures. Diesel Extreme will lower the minimum starting temperature of a diesel engine approximately 5ºF.

Composition: The cetane improver in EDT consists of special nitrates which are pro-oxidants and which speed up the oxidative process of fuels during combustion, giving more power and improved mileage. EDT provides significantly increased ignition efficiency with all diesel fuels.
In addition, EDT will prevent gum and sludge formation. Corrosion is prevented by an inhibitor which produces a protective non-deposit-forming film on metal surfaces in the fuel system and which neutralizes corrosive acids formed during combustion. An important component of EDT is a special emulsifier which disperses condensed moisture. Condensed water in fuels is a major cause of rust, icing in cold weather and the growth of microorganisms in warm weather. Operation of diesel engines is noticeably improved when corrosion and growth of bacteria are prevented. EDT contains an exclusive polar lubricity additive to prevent wear without altering fuel viscosity. Fuel treated with EDT is a “PREMIUM” diesel fuel.

Detergency – Diesel Winter Anti-Gel reduces injector nozzle coking, as demonstrated in the Cummins L-10 125-Hour Injector Depositing Test, when used at the appropriate recommended treat rate.
Cold Temperature Performance – Diesel Winter Anti-Gel lowers Pour Point, Cold Filter Plugging Point, and Low Temperature Fluidity. Keeping all the dirt out allows the oil to last twice as long. It doesn't have to work as hard if your oil is kept clean. With quality oil you can get up to 100,000 miles between changes. Oil doesn't wear out; it gets dirty. According to most studies 90% of engine wear is caused by dirty oil. Contamination comes from engine wear, dirt from the air, acid from the combustion process and fuel dilution. Full flow filters are incapable of filtering out this kind of contamination. It would simply starve the engine of oil if it did. That's why you need bypass filtration. A bypass filter takes part of the oil and cleans it so it is 10 times cleaner than new oil. It works like a kidney dialysis machine. The flow rate is about 1 gallon per minute. Every minute you run your truck with this filter, it’s like you’re adding back a gallon of cleaner than new oil to your truck’s engine. Ford Power Stroke 6.0 liter engines need this
protection. Because of the tighter tolerances, higher pressures and the resulting increased friction, the Ford Power Stroke 6.0 liter engine needs ultra clean oil.
Those pieces of equipment are prone to dirt and dust contamination so they have been using these filters for years with great results. We started installing them on pickups 10 years ago and have had magnificent results. This is not the same as a cheap spin-on filter. This is a major piece of equipment. 1. Take a sample of your oil before starting our program. That is our baseline.
2. Install the 500L bypass filter and the Blue Diamond Oil and test it at 10,000 miles. Let the laboratory results tell you if it needs changed.
3. Run it for another 10,000 miles and check it again. With these three tests we will be able to see a trend. From there we will develop the testing interval.
Predictive Maintenance will also tell you if you have any antifreeze or fuel dilution in your oil. This is extremely important to know. We purchase these test kits in bulk so we can pass on the savings to you. They are prepaid bottles so you just have to fill out the form and mail in the kit. They will mail or email you the results.

Stiction Eliminator is safe and effective in ALL diesel engines, eliminating the built up varnish and baked on oil called stiction. Sticition has become the root cause of 90% “failed” injectors. Stiction Eliminator will eliminate stiction and also clean everything else the oil comes in contact with, including the turbo, o-rings, and oil pump. After a treatment of Stiction Eliminator, your vehicle will have had a complete cleaning on the oil side of your engine, showing improved power and compression, and reduced lifter and valve noise.
Step 1 : Stiction Eliminator (p.3)
Diesel Extreme is much stronger than retail type products. It will clean everything in your tank, lines, and injector tips. Step 3 : 500L Bypass Filter (p.17)
Friction Reducer is a unique lubricity agent, featuring a negatively charged synthetic ester that tenaciously attaches itself to all metal parts it comes in contact with inside a machine. The metal machine is nearly always positively charged while Friction Reducer is negatively charged. Attachment of a thin layer of Friction Reducer to all metals is natural and not dependent upon temperature, pressure, or anything else; except there must be oil circulation to establish a layer of NT Oil Additive on the metal.
Step 5 : Friction Reducer (p.7)
Blue Diamond is a fully formulated CI-4 Plus/SL universal motor oil. Due to its 5W40 viscosity grade, Blue Diamond greatly exceeds all heavy-duty diesel engine requirements for multi grade engine oil. A 100% pure synthetic motor oil, Blue Diamond is vastly superior to partial synthetics and other synthetic oils. In addition, Blue Diamond is formulated to meet and exceed API SL for gasoline engines. Blue Diamond is a little more expensive than your average oil, however, it will last 50,000 to 100,000 miles as long as you keep it clean. The additional shear stability will preserve your fuel injectors as well as your turbo and engine.
Step 4 : Blue Diamond (p.15)
With the right oil and filter there is no telling how long our oil can last. We recommend that you start with a baseline of your oil. Take a sample of your oil before starting our 6 step program. This is your baseline. Install the 500L Bypass Filter and the Blue Diamond engine oil and test at 10,000 miles. Let the laboratory results tell you if it needs changed. Step 6 : Oil Analysis (p.19)

Need of a Bypass Filter.The solution: remove the particles. Bypass filtration eliminates wear particles over 1 micron; not all of them but a large majority. This is achieved by using an external filter mounted somewhere on the truck (usually under it). It pulls a stream of oil out of the system, filtering it down to 1 micron, and returning at a rate of 1/2 to 1 gallon per minute. This is adding a gallon of clean oil to the system every mile! Once the dirt and wear particles are removed from the oil, you can extend the drain intervals, and extend the life of the engine. We have managed to double the life of engines and have seen drain intervals as high as 200,000 (See [B]) miles. By testing a small sample of oil every 10,000 or 20,000 miles, we can keep track of the additives and the viscosity of the oil, safely extending the drains.
[A] There is a third type of friction called fluid friction but it doesn’t pertain to bypass filtration.[B] Most recently with a local semi-truck driver using our LSI500 bypass filter and Blue Diamond Ultimate Engine Oil.
Soon we will be offering a bypass filter system complete with options to buy engine oil, additives, and test kits to achieve extended drain intervals. To understand the need for a bypass filter you have to understand friction and wear. There are two (See [A]) types of friction: static and dynamic. Simply put, static is the friction that results as two surfaces begin to slide; dynamic is the continuing friction that happens while a system is running. From friction, wear develops. Wear is the rubbing away of metal surfaces due to mechanical action. There are six kinds of wear, but here we are only concerned with abrasive wear. Abrasive wear happens when “clearance sized particles” such as dirt or metal debris in oil get between two surfaces and scratch it.
A typical OEM full-flow oil filter removes 15 micron material. However, dirt and slivers of metal that are 2-5 microns remain in the system, running between surfaces and scratching metal. The metal passes into the combustion area and becomes hardened. These hardened metal particles continue to come in contact with other surfaces creating additional, smaller particles. You can clearly see the cyclical nature and how the abrasion increases exponentially.
