Writing For LifeThis class focuses on general nonfiction writing principles of structure, voice, and narrative flow. Overall writing techniques will be taught and time will be devoted each class period for writing exercises and sharing of articles written. Out & About Volunteer Driver OpportunityThe Senior Center is always seeking more volunteer drivers to keep up with the Out and About passenger demand. If you would like to volunteer a few hours a week and receive mileage reimbursement, please notify Gail Dupler, Transportation Coordinator at (760) 943-2256.

Out and About Encinitas- Get on Board!Are you an Encinitas senior citizen resident with no means of transporation? If so, you may be eligible to become a passenger. Volunteer drivers will take you to the grocery store, doctor appointments, pharmacy, Senior Center and many other locations in Encinitas. Call Gail Dupler, Transportation Coordinator at (760) 943-2256 to request an application. There is no charge. At the present time, approved Out and About Passengers are being put on a wait list. When addiitonal drivers become available, passengers will be notified in the order the applications were received.

Transfer / Refunds / Cancellation PolicyTransfers are permitted up to five (5) days before the start of the class/program. A $5.00 Transfer Fee will be charged on all transfers approved.

Cancellations /Refunds – Activities are subject to change. A full refund (minus the Administration Fee) will be issued for any class/program cancelled by the City. No cancellations/refunds requested by participants will be issued after the class/program begins. If you cancel at least five (5) days before the class/program begins, you will receive a refund minus a $10.00 Refund Fee and the Administration Fee. Refunds are not issued for inclement weather. Refunds may take 2–3 weeks to process. No credit issued for future activity registrations.

Special EventsEaster Egg Hunt Festival & Summer Programs PreviewThe City of Encinitas presents our annual Easter Egg Hunt Festival & Summer Programs Preview on Saturday, April 7, at Ecke Sports Park, 278 Saxony Road, Encinitas, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. This FREE event features crafts, prizes, jump houses, an inflatable slide, face painting, the Bunny & Instructor meet and greet and 20,000+ eggs! Egg hunt times are as follows: 10:15—2 years & under, 10:45—3 year-olds, 11:15—4 & 5 year-olds, 11:45—6 & 7 year-olds, 12:15—8 & 9 year-olds. Join us for our annual FREE Senior Information Fair featuring exhibitors offering information about services for seniors, including health, transportation, housing, recreation and more. 2. Walk-In:Come by and register in person. We accept payment by credit/Debit, check or money order,payable to the City of Encinitas. The Parks and Recreation office at City Hall is open Monday throughFriday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM and is closed on alternating Fridays. The Encinitas Community and Senior Center isopen for registration Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

3. Mail-In:Mail your completed and signed Activity Registration Form along with a check or money order payable to the City of Encinitas.
