• Bring together good thinkers from many sectors with professionals working on the issue and an engaged audience willing to make a difference.
• Join civic leaders with the influencers driving change.
• Provide a plaLorm to consider ways to solve a problem with a call to ac*on so people can get can involved with the community in crea*ve ways.

Collabora*on is a contact sport.
• LUMA Ins*tute, our partner in idea*on: 80 people. Six categories. Hundreds of ideas over 3 hours.
• The Sprout Fund, to fund one or more of those ideas from each event up to $50,000.
• The Pi<sburgh Founda*on to house the ini*a*ve with three other founda*ons.
What’s involved. (Plenty)
• The idea*on event: ge[ng ideas in small groups, shaping ideas and presen*ng one concept to all
• Awarding an idea the winner -‐-‐ $$$! • Following up with workshops, mul*ple feature stories and videos about the event, and a focus area on social innova*on.
The main goals?
advancing ideas: Around Civic design. Placemaking. Social jus*ce. City-‐building. Cultural vitality.
More than a presenta*on—something comes of it and the momentum con*nues through Pop City.

THE CHALLENGE
How might we dis*nguish our city and contribute to its vitality? How might we create more places that energize residents and a<ract visitors? How might we improve in the way of public art, green spaces, ge[ng around and street life?
