SPRING 2014 ADAMS, JOYCE: Franklin, MA. [email protected] I continued my education with an AS from Dean College, then attended Northeastern University evenings. Nine years later I graduated with a BS in Accounting. I’ve worked as an accountant, controller and for the final 23 years, as a vice president in the insurance business.

I spent many adventurous years climbing mountains, hiking, camping, biking, and in my slower years birding. I am happiest when outside in nature. At the age of 60, I got married for the first time, and became stepmom to a 17 year old girl, and 2 adult kids living in other parts of the country. A grandchild in Iowa has been added to the mix.I’ve worked for many social justice causes over the years. I am a life member of the Franklin Democratic Town Committee and was a NOW vice president. Currently, I’m the volunteer treasurer of my UU church and sit on its Board. We enjoy meandering thru the back roads of New England with Rusty, our Chihuahua, choosing new remote places to visit.

ALLEGRINI, JOHN: Douglas, MA. [email protected] My affinity for health and fitness all began at FHS in 1962 under the guidance of Mr. Robert Gaura (my shop teacher). My enthusiasm grew, as Mr. Gaura put me thru punishing workouts and pushed me towards competing in power lifting.

Subsequently, I placed 2nd at the NE States Power Lifting Championship and third at the East Coast Power Lifting Championship. I had two more 2nd place finishes, one each at the Conn.State and RI State Championships.

Mr. Gaura believed that I never achieved a first place because I was the youngest competitor at each event. However, thanks to Mr. Gaura, I was able to out Bench Press all the contestants in my weight class, at each event. It was his favorite exercise, and he made sure it was mine too. When I entered the ARMY, at boot camp I broke and set a new record in the overhead ladder sprint.

I’m still at it, stronger than ever with my personal training business. I train clients, lecture, consult and write health and fitness articles for the Uxbridge Times . My lectures now are mostly at assisted living facilities, gyms and health clubs explaining and encouraging strength

training for a longer more active, vibrant life. Several years ago I reached my goal of 24,000 miles (distance around equator) thru cycling and walking,I’m on my second attempt now. I retired from my real job at N. E. Electric after 37 years in middle management. (It all started at FHS. My memories of those days are as vivid as ever.)

ALLEN,MARTHA: Martha Parady,Bourne,MA. Graduated from UMass, Amherst in 1968 with a degree in History. Married Robert W.Parady and moved to Monument Beach, MA. ANDERSON, KENNETH: Fortworth, TX [email protected]. In 1966 I met my future wife, Jean, in Webster,MA. We were married in 1970,have 2 children,Scott and Sarah and 2 grandchildren,Ava and Zach. In 1973 we opened our own small grocery store in Dudley,MA,probably taking after my father who was the manager of the Franklin A&P for many years. In 2005 we sold our store and became semi-retired. We both have had various part-time jobs since. In 2007 after the birth of our first grandchild we moved to Fort Worth, Texas to be close to them. This year a promotion and job transfer brought our son and his wife here to Texas as well. It's great to all be together again. Our travels have been mostly limited to this country although we did vacation in London one year, which we really enjoyed. Most of my time is now spent with Ava and Zach. I also enjoy playing chess, reading {thank you Miss. Holmes}, and occasionally writing. Hope everyone has a great time.

BEAUDETTE,CAROL:Carol Plausse,Franklin,MA [email protected] I have been so blessed in my life with two daughters, a grandson, and the love of all my family, friends, music and good food! My favorite,“An Old Irish Blessing”: May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

BERGHELLI,DIANE:Franklin, MA. After college, I taught for a few years. I was lucky to teach in Franklin under my mentor Kevin Quinlan who was then the vice principal. It was an enjoyable experience. Later I changed careers to work in the medical field until retirement. I feel that I made a difference which is very important to me. Now I’m enjoying the journey of retirement. It is really great as now I get to do things that I couldn’t do while working.

BINNS,DONALD: Wilbraham, MA 01095. [email protected]. Graduated UMass, BA Political Science. Married Melissa Murphy in 1970 and still married to her.Two children, Ethan, a senior consultant with a French company, working out of Boston and Emily, a nurse at the Cape Cod Hospital. Career path has been in land and real estate development. President and CEO of four development companies in my earlier career. Formed my own commercial real estate company in 1990, which was cleverly named Binns & Company. Clients included Fortune 100 companies. First grandchild came this year, Oliver Arthur Binns. Traveled extensively in Europe for pleasure. Still trying to play decent golf without much success. Now retired.

BOGIGIAN,BARBARA: Barbara Todaro, Franklin, MA. In 1964,if anyone had asked me what my life would be like 50 years into the future, I would not have described it as it is today. I’ve been blessed with three wonderful children and eight grandchildren. Real Estate has been my career since 1978, and my team ranks in the top 10 in New England. My latest and greatest personal achievement happened on July 3, 2013 when I underwent weight loss surgery, and I’ve lost 152 pounds. I’m now a slim, trim and “very fit” health fanatic – finally. BRUNELLI, BARBARA: Barbara Hook, Sandwich, MA [email protected] My high school dream in the yearbook states that I wanted to be a dental hygienist. I didn’t do that – but I did work as a dental assistant to Dr. Brady in Franklin for a short time which was better than being a hygienist – Dr. Brady was so funny. I also worked as a Secretary to the District Manager of Sales at GAF Corporation for five years, working with many people from Franklin, including Mr. Philip Bean, Bob Bean’s Dad. I wanted to leave Franklin so I worked at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Boston in their cytology lab processing women’s cancer tests. I liked meeting the diverse people in Boston, so I applied and became a TWA Flight Attendant for the next 28 years of my life! I attribute a lot of my drive to Ms. Bean our Oskey director. She saw something in me that made me feel special and to strive for things that showed my stuff, which was to dance. It was also important that I had studied French for 2 years FHS – that qualified me for hiring by TWA, plus I was co-captain of the Cheer leading team …all of this adds up.

I was lucky to grow up when many jobs were possible with just a high school diploma. I have also peppered my education with college courses that were either for fun or to improve my resume and general knowledge. I finished classes last fall in accounting and tax law. I took a break at 46 years old when I had my daughter. She is now a junior at PSU in New Hampshire. I got my MA Real Estate License and my MA Manicurist License and worked part-time at both while she was growing up. I also worked at Cape Air/Nantucket Airlines for six years after leaving TWA. I now work at Macy’s Fine Jewelry on Cape Cod. I’ll retire to FL when my daughter finishes college and perhaps teach Zumba to seniors – oh, I forgot, I am a senior…oh well.

LOMBARDI, PAUL: Franklin, MA [email protected] In the yearbook my pet peeve was alarm clocks and since I retired I have been true to myself and have not used one except for two times since. When I know I have to be somewhere early, I just wake up. Plus, my beagle, Hunter lets me know when its time to be fed, usually around seven, so I don’t get much time to sleep.

When I was in English class in high school, this light turned on and I decided then and there that I wanted to become an English teacher. My Dad wanted me to go to Emerson to study acting, but I was too practical even then and said I didn’t want to wait on tables while I waited on a job. After college, I joined the Peace Corps and spent a year in Jamaica. When I came home I was hired in Franklin to teach the worst English class (and also two science classes). I loved my job and stuck with teaching for 33 consecutive years, from the time I had those challenging classes till I graduated to teaching college prep sophomores and accelerated seniors.

I was also fortunate enough to travel through the entire United States at different times in my life and once drove back from Phoenix to Franklin. I have two children who graduated from Franklin High School and are doing well.

Is it fifty years? McCall, Turco and Grossman It seems like one Ones I never knew,High school ended I’m still trying to figureOur lives had begun. What did they all do?

So many to thank To: Rose and Beane With memories clear, The ones we held dearOur parents and families But a call to their officeAnd friends we hold dear. We all did fear. (except Leesie)

To Franklin a special place But my favorite of allWith much to do now and then, Without a lick Our little corner of the earth Was Miss Marion HolmesThe town named after “Ben”. When she was out sick.

Here’s to our teachers To the kitchen staffThose mighty and strong, And that lovely old ladyWho taught us so much Who with a little smileIn word, deed and song. I got extra potaty.

To: Vanston, Gleason Wish I was with youAnd Metcalf, “don’t cry” To join in the funIf you ever crossed her Hope you all enjoyedYou probably would die. My little pun.

With Rex in biology To all who have left usThere was always a chill We send you our loveAs on many a desk Secure in the hope His frogs we did kill. You’re with our Savior

above.

To Brown, Cassidy and Van Beaver too, To all a salute How can you forget For memories past.I know I did To our friendshipsHow about you? That forever will

last. Here’s to merry “ole” Murray Always stuck in his lab,When you entered his class Ken Anderson ‘64You never were bad.

Page 20: SPRING 1964SPRING 2014 ADAMS, JOYCE: Franklin, MA. lifevoayage@aol.com I continued my education with an AS from Dean College, then attended Northeastern University evenings. Nine years

Today I’m still at it, stronger than ever with my personal training business. I train clients, lecture, consult and write health and fitness articles for the Uxbridge Times . My clients range from adolescents to seniors. My lectures now are mostly at assisted living facilities, gyms and health clubs explaining and encouraging strength training for a longer more active, vibrant life. Several years ago I reached my goal of 24,000 miles thru cycling and walking, the equivalent distance around the equator. I’m on my second attempt now.

This year a promotion and job transfer

brought our son and his wife here to Texas as well.

My favorite: “An Old Irish Blessing”: May the road rise up to meet you.

It is really great as now I get to do things that I couldn’t do while working.

out of Boston and Emily, a nurse at the Cape Cod Hospital.

BONIFAZI, LAUREN: Lauren DeBaggis,Franklin, MA 02038 BRUNELLI, BARBARA: Barbara Hook, Sandwich, MA [email protected] My high school dream in the yearbook states that I wanted to be a dental hygienist. It was also very important that I was a two year French language student at FHS – that qualified me for hiring at TWA, plus the fact that I was co-captain of the Cheer leading team …all of this adds up.

I was lucky to grow up when many jobs were possible with just a high school diploma, but I have also peppered my educational history with college courses that were either for fun or to improve my resume and general knowledge. I

Page 23: SPRING 1964SPRING 2014 ADAMS, JOYCE: Franklin, MA. lifevoayage@aol.com I continued my education with an AS from Dean College, then attended Northeastern University evenings. Nine years

finished classes last fall in accounting and tax law. I’ll retire to Florida when my daughter finishes college and perhaps teach Zumba to seniors – oh, yeah, I forgot, I am a senior…oh well.

KUSSMAUL, JANICE: Janice Parmenter,Franklin,MA

[email protected]

I lived in Franklin my entire life, except for college when I lived in Boston. I married another Franklinite and raised two sons. I worked varying jobs over my career, each giving

Page 28: SPRING 1964SPRING 2014 ADAMS, JOYCE: Franklin, MA. lifevoayage@aol.com I continued my education with an AS from Dean College, then attended Northeastern University evenings. Nine years

me a different and unique perspective on life. Worked as a medical secretary to head radiologist at cancer research hospital; worked as a floating temp. and permanent part-time secretary to various departments for the Town of Franklin; worked at The Interface Group, the largest privately owned computer trade show company (at the time) in the world as a secretary to Show Operations Department (full time) and “floor manager” at the Riviera Hotel, Los Vegas, NV for COMEX/fall (part time). The person who owned TIG is Sheldon Adelson (who would have known that he would now be a multi-billionaire) enriching my appreciation of “real” life; ended my career retiring from Waters Corporation, working for the VP of Pharmaceutical Business Operations. Bringing me to now in my life where I continue to “can” our fresh garden foods, travel domestically and abroad, exercise, kayak, snow shoe, walk and spend time with our 2 handsome grandsons…living life as best I can.

LLOY, GIBBY: Medway, MA LOMBARDI, PAUL: Franklin, MA In the yearbook my pet peeve was alarm clocks and since I retired I have been true to myself and have not used one except for two times since.

LUKK, PAUL: Plymouth, MA.I became semi-retired this year. My wife and I have 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. GREETINGS CLASSMATES!

Welcome to the Fiftieth Reunion of the Franklin High School Class of 1964.

The events of this weekend were planned to allow time and space for us to revisit memories of our school years and swap personal experiences from the fifty years that have passed since then.

Of course the hours we spend together won’t be nearly enough for us to catch up on all the kids, grandkids, jobs, and adventures that we experienced as we traveled along our separate paths. That’s why we decided to put this booklet together.

We hope you will take a copy home. Then, when time allows, you can read through the collection of life stories that you have all helped us to create. For each classmate we have listed the town of residence and e-mails of those who have provided us with this information.

You will note a short list of classmates with whom we have lost contact. If you know the whereabouts of anyone on the list please contact a committee member.

Sadly, there are members of the Class of 1964 who are deceased. Their names are found on an “In Memoriam” page at the conclusion of this booklet. We will remember them formally during our reunion gathering.

Again, the committee welcomes you and we look forward to sharing with you a reunion that will re-connect us to our shared past and send us smiling into the future.

CLASSMATES

ADAMS, JOYCE: Franklin, MA.

At the age of 60, I got

Page 39: SPRING 1964SPRING 2014 ADAMS, JOYCE: Franklin, MA. lifevoayage@aol.com I continued my education with an AS from Dean College, then attended Northeastern University evenings. Nine years

married for the first time, and became stepmom to a 17 year old girl, and 2 adult kids living in other parts of the country.

I retired from my real job at N. E. Electric after 37 years in middle management. (It all started at FHS. My memories of those days are as vivid as ever.)

And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Page 41: SPRING 1964SPRING 2014 ADAMS, JOYCE: Franklin, MA. lifevoayage@aol.com I continued my education with an AS from Dean College, then attended Northeastern University evenings. Nine years

BONIFAZI, LAUREN: Lauren DeBaggis,Franklin, MA 02038 BRUNELLI, BARBARA: Barbara Hook, Sandwich, MA [email protected] My high school dream in the yearbook states that I wanted to be a dental hygienist. Margaret’s

Page 42: SPRING 1964SPRING 2014 ADAMS, JOYCE: Franklin, MA. lifevoayage@aol.com I continued my education with an AS from Dean College, then attended Northeastern University evenings. Nine years

Hospital in Boston in their cytology lab processing women’s cancer tests.

I’ll retire to Florida when my daughter finishes college and perhaps teach Zumba to seniors – oh, yeah, I forgot, I am a senior…oh well.

She works for the city of Worcester. My son lives in Florida and just gave me grandchild number 3 (baby girl born February 19). My son works in sales. My youngest daughter lives on Block Island, RI, works as assistant harbor master.

I have three children. My oldest and youngest, Meredith and Caitlyn both live and work in NYC. Needless to say I try to get to the city as much as possible. We just returned from a 2 week trip visiting my son Jason and daughter-in-law, Vaktoriya, in Burlington, VT. No grandchildren yet. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend our reunion. I raised 2 sons and also have 2 stepdaughters. They have given us 9 grandsons and 2 granddaughters as well as a great-granddaughter. They have all brought much joy to our lives. I do wish I would get to see them more often. After Ray and I married, I moved into his family home in Foxboro. The house is an older home. We have done many renovations and now it is a pleasure to live in, especially since we are older.

While raising my children, I finished my Associates Degree at Fisher College. I worked for Thermo Fisher in Needham and Milford for 29 years as a Customer Service Rep. and then Manager. I learned a lot and enjoyed many of my years at Thermo. Over the years, Ray and I have traveled, most recently to Grand Canyon, the Panama Canal and Hawaii. I lived in Franklin my entire life, except for college when I lived in Boston. I married another Franklinite and raised two sons. I worked varying jobs over my career, each giving me a different and unique perspective on life.

My Dad wanted me to go to Emerson to study acting, but I was too practical even then

Page 48: SPRING 1964SPRING 2014 ADAMS, JOYCE: Franklin, MA. lifevoayage@aol.com I continued my education with an AS from Dean College, then attended Northeastern University evenings. Nine years

and said I didn’t want to wait on tables while I waited on a job.

Then, when time allows, you can read through the collection of life stories that

Page 55: SPRING 1964SPRING 2014 ADAMS, JOYCE: Franklin, MA. lifevoayage@aol.com I continued my education with an AS from Dean College, then attended Northeastern University evenings. Nine years

you have all helped us to create.

Enter this somewhere at the rear of the book

Congratulations to us all - the Class of 1964!

CLASSMATES

ADAMS, JOYCE: Franklin, MA.

At the age of 60, I got married for the first time, and became stepmom to a 17 year

Page 58: SPRING 1964SPRING 2014 ADAMS, JOYCE: Franklin, MA. lifevoayage@aol.com I continued my education with an AS from Dean College, then attended Northeastern University evenings. Nine years

old girl, and 2 adult kids living in other parts of the country.

I retired from my real job at N. E. Electric after 37 years in middle management. (It all started at FHS. My memories of those days are as vivid as ever.)

BONIFAZI, LAUREN: Lauren DeBaggis,Franklin, MA 02038 BRUNELLI, BARBARA: Barbara Hook, Sandwich, MA [email protected] My high school dream in the yearbook states that I wanted to be a dental hygienist. Margaret’s Hospital in Boston in their cytology lab processing women’s

cancer tests.

I’ll retire to Florida when my daughter finishes college and perhaps teach Zumba to seniors – oh, yeah, I forgot, I am a senior…oh well.

I lived in Franklin my entire life, except for college when I lived in Boston. I married another Franklinite and raised two sons. I worked varying jobs over my career, each giving me a different and unique perspective on life.

When I came home I was hired in Franklin to teach the worst English class (and also two science

classes). I loved my job and stuck with teaching for 33 consecutive years, from the time I had those challenging classes till I graduated to teaching college prep sophomores and accelerated seniors.

Page 74: SPRING 1964SPRING 2014 ADAMS, JOYCE: Franklin, MA. lifevoayage@aol.com I continued my education with an AS from Dean College, then attended Northeastern University evenings. Nine years

Enter this somewhere at the rear of the book

Congratulations to us all - the Class of 1964!

CLASSMATES

ADAMS, JOYCE: Franklin, MA.

Today I’m still at it, stronger than ever with my personal training business. I train clients, lecture, consult and write health and fitness articles for the Uxbridge Times .

Page 78: SPRING 1964SPRING 2014 ADAMS, JOYCE: Franklin, MA. lifevoayage@aol.com I continued my education with an AS from Dean College, then attended Northeastern University evenings. Nine years

I retired from my real job at N. E. Electric after 37 years in middle management. (It all started at FHS. My memories of those days are as vivid as ever.)

BOGIGIAN,BARBARA: Barbara Todaro, Franklin, MA. In 1964,if anyone had asked me what my life would be like 50 years into the future, I would not have described it as it is today. My latest and greatest personal achievement

happened on July 3, 2013 when I underwent weight loss surgery, and I’ve lost 152 pounds. I’m now a slim, trim and “very fit” health fanatic – finally.

BONIFAZI, LAUREN: Lauren DeBaggis,Franklin, MA 02038 BRUNELLI, BARBARA: Barbara Hook, Sandwich, MA [email protected] My high school dream in the yearbook states that I wanted to be a dental hygienist.

Bill and I moved to Wrentham, King Philip territory, in 1995 where we restored an old beach cottage on Lake Archer and remain there today when we are not camping on Provincetown’s Race Point Beach, traveling the globe or hanging out with our three energetic grandsons.

GREETINGS CLASSMATES!

Welcome to the Fiftieth Reunion of the Franklin High School Class of 1964.

Page 93: SPRING 1964SPRING 2014 ADAMS, JOYCE: Franklin, MA. lifevoayage@aol.com I continued my education with an AS from Dean College, then attended Northeastern University evenings. Nine years

Enter this somewhere at the rear of the book

Congratulations to us all - the Class of 1964!
