Spreadsheets – Printing & Charting

With many types of information it is preferable to present it on the form of a chart or a graph. Excel can produce graphs quickly.

Select the area of the spreadsheet that contains all the figures and names that you want in your chart.

Click on the chart wizard button and follow the screen instructions.

Click on the area of the spreadsheet that you selected.

If the selected area is correct then click on Next.

Choose the type of chart you prefer by clicking on the window of your choice.

Click on Next Choose the subtype

you want (if any) and click on Next

Experiment with the columns and rows buttons and the number of columns or rows you want then click Next.

Click on Add a legend

Enter a suitable title Click on Finish.

Before you print a spreadsheet make sure that you select the area you want to print first including your chart if their is one.

You do this because if you have inadvertently entered a formula or number in a cell off the screen, you may get lots of blank paper being churned through the printer and cause your network administrator to have a nervous breakdown

First select the part of the spreadsheet you want to print.

Then you go to the FILE menu

Choose PRINT AREA

Choose SET PRINT AREA

This then tells the computer that you only want the area you choose to be printed

Spreadsheets – Printing & Charting If you feel confident in Charting and

Printing try the following: Open up your MARX2.XLS spreadsheet and

create a chart of your choice Name it with your name somewhere in the

title Be sure that it shows all names and

percentages for your spreadsheet Include a legend showing the colors or each

person Save it as MARX3.XLS Print out just the numbers of your

spreadsheet.
