Len Czuba — Keynote Speaker Mr. Czuba is the President of Czuba Enterprises. He has more than 30 years of experience in polymer synthesis, compounding and material development in the medical device industry. His product development experience and polymers expertise assist partner fi rms to take products from concept to market. In 2004, Len was honored as one of the 100 MD&DI Notable Persons in the medical device industry. He has been a member of the Society of Plastics

Engineers (SPE) since 1975, and has served on the board of directors of the Medical Plastics Division since 1985 and has thrice served as the Division Chairman. In May of 2000, Len was inducted to the ranks of Honored Service Member and in March of 2015, became a Fellow of the Society. He served as the Society’s President for SPE’s 2005 – 2006 year. He is now a Distinguished Honored-Service Fellow of SPE. He has a B.S. in BioSciences from Southern Illinois University.

Steve Maxson — HostMr. Maxson is Director of Global Business Development – Extrusion for Graham Engineering, owner of American Kuhne Inc. He is responsible for sales, marketing, product development and M&A for the medical sector. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology and a MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

SPEAKERS continuedSean HargettMr. Hargett has served as President of Steeger USA for the last eight years. Prior to his current position, Sean served as Sales Executive and Director of Operations for Steeger. He holds

a degree in International Finance & Marketing from the University of Alabama.

Timothy Steele Mr. Steele is the CEO, Founder and Owner of MicroSpec Corporation. Tim is a self-taught Extrusion Engineer whose experience began in 1968 where he began working part-

time at Telefl ex running a Tefl on extruder. His extrusion background includes experience in thermoplastic elastomers and designing extrusion tooling... including heads and cross-heads. Considered a thought leader in the medical extrusion industry, he lead the way in the miniaturization of coextruded and multi-luman tubing; which has transformed the neonatal catheter industry. He owns one patent and graduated from Lehigh University with a degree in History.

Juergen Gieosow, PhDDr. Gieosow is the Director of Technology and Engineering at ARBURG USA. He joined ARBURG in 1990 in Germany as a trainer. He graduated from the University for Plastic

Engineering in Troisdorf, Germany.

Adam Nadeau Mr. Nadeau has spent the last 11 years with Saint-Gobain developing new processes, optimizing current processes, and creating new products for fl uid management applications. He

has earned his B.S. and M.S. in Plastics Engineering, focused in Plastics Processing, from the University of Massachusetts.

Bob Bessemer Mr. Bessemer has more than 34 years of experience working for several downstream plastics extrusion equipment manufacturers. His major focus is on developing, sizing,

and cutting equipment specifi c to medical and pharma applications. Bob currently has six patents. Graduated from Penn State University with a B.S. in Business Administration.

Scott JonesMr. Jones is Head of Medtech Labs and Cardiovascular Materials at Evonik. He previously spent 23 years in R&D and Manufacturing for several companies such

as Guidant, Boston Scientifi c and Cordis. He focused on polymer processing, testing and design of medical devices including catheters, balloons and vascular closure devices. He holds a B.S. in Polymer Science and a M.S. in Engineering Management with emphasis in Biomedical Engineering.

Denis FinnMr. Finn is the Project Engineer for Guill Tool and Engineering. He is responsible for new product development and quality control. His primary areas of experience are in mechanical design,

fl ow analysis, and process engineering. Additionally, he has worked in the wire, pipe, and profi le industries producing profi les and multi-layer applications. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island.

Tyler WareMr. Ware is the owner of GenX Medical. In his previous years he has been the lead engineer over an extrusion room, running up to six lines. He was also a Process Engineer at American

Kuhne. Tyler has traveled extensively worldwide teaching others the art of making medical tubing. He has tooling design knowledge, screw design knowledge and process knowledge.

Keith DonahueMr. Donahue is the Vice President, Sales where he is responsible for balancing both sales and support needs for the company with customer requirements from the various market segments

supported by Zumbach. He began his career with Zumbach in 1987 as a Field Service Engineer. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Union College in Schenectady, NY and a MBA from Villanova University in Pennsylvania.

Herb WischowMr. Wischow is the Vice President of Sales for Dri-Air Industries. His responsibilities include sales management, project development, dryer sizing, systems and marketing for the

company’s plastics drying and loading systems. Mr. Wischow joined Dri-Air in 1991. Previously he had handled sales for Macon Machinery Sales. He has a B.S. in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University.

Larry AlpertMr. Alpert is the President, Biomerics Advanced Extrusion. He previously worked for Adam Spence, Fluorotek, Boston Scientifi c, and Putnam Plastics and has more than 35 years of

experince in Medical Extrusion. He currently holds 10 patents.

Larry JohnsonMr. Johnson is an executive with more than 30 years of global experience in the marketing and sale of engineered and advanced polymer materials. Larry’s marketing and sales

discipline focus includes management and training, strategic assessment, planning, and execution, M & A and strategic partnerships, and innovation and technology development. He has a B.S. in Business Administration and a MBA in Marketing and Finance, from Wright State University.
