Students will learn from a multidisciplinary perspective to understand and manage the bio-psycho-social phenomena of sport and how toorganize exercise for fitness, physical education, and sport manage-ment. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Students interested in applying to the Sport Sciences Program may do so through the QU Admissions homepage (in the Prospective Students section). The University requires students to hold a General Education Certificate or equivalent, with an average of 75%. Students should also score a minimum of 500 points in the TOEFL and each section of the SAT test. The Program specific requirement is a physi-cal fitness test designed to check basic motor abilities relevant to program courses.

Prior to the test Candidates have to provide a medical certificate to attest capability to take the physical fitness test and to join the sportscience program.

IT’S ALL IN YOUR MIND: Mental Aspects of Sport Learn and understand why the way you think and feel changes how you play. Students will analyze and develop knowledge on how playing sports and exercise can influence not only the body but also the mind.

HOW DOES IT WORK? Physical Aspects of Sport Students will gain insight into the body’s functioning during physical activity under various circumstances, and how the body works and adapts by means of movement actions and exercise. WHY WE PLAY: Social Aspects of Sport Sports have a large impact on us both personally and through society.Students will be able to study and understand what makes sports important not only for the individual person but also for social groups, the society and the culture we live in.

ASPECTS OF HEALTH AND LIFESTYLE Teaching the importance of fitness and an active, healthy lifestyle allows us to educate society on how to respect and care for the body and mind. Physical activity is part of our nature and necessary for our health. Sports and exercise contribute remarkably to prevent heart disease, cancer, and diabetes, as well as greatly increase personal happiness and quality of life. This program helps students under-stand these benefits and effects of exercise through a dynamic and comprehensive approach.
