What are we doing?
Alzheimer’s Australia Vic and the Rotary Club of Manningham are delighted to be presenting the 2012 A Night to Remember fundraising dinner at the RACV City Club, Level 17, 501 Bourke Street, Melbourne on Saturday 15 September. Bringing together 300 guests the event will feature the generous support of six world renowned chefs. This year Ita Buttrose, National President of Alzheimer’s Australia will be joining us as key note speaker. The night promises to be a unique culinary experience and a celebration of Melbourne’s reputation as Australia’s home of fine dining.
Why are we doing it?
This event will contribute to the work of Alzheimer’s Australia Vic, which supports Victorians living with dementia, their families and carers. Until there is a cure, service delivery, such as counselling and education, will come under increasing pressure to meet the needs of the escalating number of Victorians living with dementia.
Alzheimer’s Australia Vic has partnered with the Rotary Club of Manningham to present the event. 75% of the funds received will go to Alzheimer’s Australia Vic with 25% provided to the Rotary Club of Manningham to support important local and international community work.Keynote Speaker

Executive Chef Philippe Mouchel PM24 Restaurant, Melbourne
Rated as one of the world’s finest French chefs, Philippe Mouchel was born in Normandy and began his career aged 16, working in French Michelin star restaurants such as Hotel Frantel in Bordeaux and Restaurant Roger Vergé in Mougins. With his fresh take on contemporary French cuisine, Philippe is now being re-discovered by Melbourne’s discerning diners. Philippe Mouchel has been awarded one chef’s hat in the prestigious The Age Good Food Guide each year from 2005 to 2010.
Executive Chef Mark Normoyle RACV City Club, Melbourne
Mark Normoyle began his career with the Sheraton Hotel Group where he was employed at Uluru Ayers Rock resort, and later moved on to the prestigious Sheraton Mirage Hotel Gold Coast and the Hotel Sofitel Melbourne, under the guidance of chef Raymond Capaldi. Mark then became Chef De Cuisine at the Australian Club, one of Australia’s most exclusive private clubs. With the opening of RACV City Club, Mark became Executive Sous Chef and was then promoted to the Executive Chef position in 2009. At the RACV City Club he has enhanced his kitchen team who all have a high level of passion for quality food and premium ingredients.

Alvin Leung is a truly unique chef who has travelled extensively since childhood, making him well versed in different cultures and cuisine. Alvin’s X-treme Chinese cuisine has broken down long held preconceptions of what Chinese food should look and taste like and has single-handedly created new taste sensations that offer every guest at Bo Innovation a special gastronomic experience. In 2011 he had his first television programme aired, The Maverick Chef, for Li-TV. Alvin’s recent awards have included; 2 Michelin Stars - Michelin Guide Hong Kong and Macau 2012 and No. 9 Asia’s Finest Restaurants – Miele Guide 2011/2012.

Chef De Cuisine Jeffrey Tan is especially well-known as a Guest Celebrity Chef in Asia and Australia. He is an Executive Chef Member of Les Toques Blanches (LTB), Victoria charter Australia. He has cooked for some of the most famous Chefs and Royalties. He has also appeared as a Celebrity Chef for the Compagnie Mousquetaires D’Armagnac Escadron De Malaisie, Billanock Wine and Food Society, Doncaster Fine Foods Society. Chef Jeffrey has also been invited as the Guest Chef for the LTB Presidents Annual Dinner at Moonee Valley Race Club for some of the top professional Chefs in Melbourne and their partners, ANZ Private Banking, Ritz Carlton Hotel AND Kuala Lumpur in the presence of HRH the Crown Prince and Princess of Malaysia.
Executive Pastry Chef Pierrick Boyer Le Petit Gateau, Melbourne
Pierrick Boyer has been the Executive Pastry Chef for RACV City Club since 2004 and has over 22 years experience in the industry. Classically trained, Pierrick has a wealth of international experience working alongside chefs such as Alain Ducasse, Christophe Michalak, Pierre Marcolini, Stephane Leroux, Meilleurs Ouvriers de France. In July 2007, he opened Le Petit Gateau which was voted ‘Best Pastry Shop’ by the Foodies Guide to Melbourne, with his ‘Brownie Passion’ voted the most amazing cake.
Executive Chef Dale Lyman William Angliss Institute, Melbourne
Dale Lyman has worked in some of Melbourne’s finest restaurants. He has travelled extensively and worked in England, Scotland and Israel. For the past eight years Dale has been at William Angliss Institute, Angliss Culinary Academy as Chef Instructor. Dale is Registrar and Chairman of Judges for the Australian Culinary Foundation Victoria and has been active on the committee for the past six years. Dale is passionate about the development of young cooks and our industry. He is a leader in training and managing teams, regularly judges and convenes competitions and has competed in the last three Fine Foods in Melbourne.

Evaluation
A number of methods will be employed to measure the success oftheevent.Thefinalnumberofattendees,combinedwiththefunds raised will be the main indicators used.
In addition, in order to monitor media activity Alzheimer’s Australia Vicwillemployacombinationofmethodstodevelopabalancedestimate of measurement, reach and coverage of the campaign. ThemediamonitoringcompanyMediaMonitors,internalonlinemonitoring and various social media statistical reporting such as Twitter Stats, Tweet Reach, SocialMention, Addictomatic andHootsuite will be used to source data.
Other statistics will be gathered throughout the project, including an estimate of the number of contacts reached throughout all the networks involved, the supporting volunteer hours, the number and estimated value of charity auction donations, the in-kindsupport and levels of sponsorship received.
An evaluation report including analysis of this activity and sponsors kit will be supplied to all sponsors after the event, including copies of all the materials developed for this event, especially those including the sponsors details and logos.
