PROJECTA SERIES OF VIDEOS AROUND THE WORLD

We travel the world led by our curiosity about other countries

and cultures—trying to inspire other to travel as well.

From 2017 to 2018 our 18-months long journey will take

us through 12 different countries (details pp. 6 & 7). Each

of them will be presented in a generalistic video showing

background informations. Whenever possible we will

also produce a short story presenting a local tradition or

original craft through the voice of its practitioners.

This short but enlightening videos are all touching,

unusual and authentic slices of life elsewhere, helping

us to change our points of reference, make us curious

and reflect upon our neighbors—far or close...

SIMPLE YET INFORMATIVE

When shooting we abstain from any staging, and use

natural light along with a spontaneous narration. This

way we try to do justice to the beauty of the countries we

visit and the people we meet, combining the authenticity

of a documentary with a cinematic aesthetic.

In our stories the interviewed person is the sole

narrator. In the informative videos the experience

is immersive with a few key-figures providing a bit

of context—avoiding bias as much as possible.

OUR VIDEO CRAFTING PROCESSBRIEF AND RICH FORMAT

Music is part of the viewing experience;

editing is dynamic; and motion design

adds contextual information to create an

optimal combination of form and content.

Our videos have a length of between 4 and

7 minutes. We concieve them as teasers:

their purpose is more to arouse curiosity

than to “show it all”. They’re also meant

to be released through the internet where

shorter is better to get people to watch it all.

RESSOURCES

We will travel over 18 months in 12

countries (see list p.7). The videos will

be shot, edited and posted on road.

We’ll need to carry 2 cameras, 4 lens, 2

computers, and all materials required for

video production and post-production. In

our bags, there is only room left for the

very bare minimum in terms of dressing

and leisure! (see more pp. 10 & 11)

As we are not so much polyglots beyond

English and French, we will occasionally

call for translators to accompany us in

our discussions with interviewees.
