In September 2018, the United States are returning to the Thessaloniki International Fair as the

Honored Country at the most prominent exhibition in southeast Europe, which will bring

together government and business leaders, entrepreneurs, doers, influencers, and 300,000 buyers

and professionals.

The theme of the U.S. presence will be “Harnessing the Power of Innovation and Creativity”,

aiming at showcasing America’s leadership in driving innovation and creativity in a variety of

sectors from technology to education and beyond. The range of exhibits will reflect the

entrepreneurial spirit and continuous evolution that enable U.S. businesses to remain

competitive in a global market.

The American Pavilion at TIF 2018 will reflect the best of what American businesses have to offer

First held in 1926, the Thessaloniki International Fair is the largest

commercial tradeshow in Southeast (SE) Europe, and today it

enjoys significant international appeal. It is held annually in

September in Thessaloniki, the second largest city in Greece and

a key administrative, cultural, and business hub of SE Europe.

Organized throughout its long history by the American-Hellenic

Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy,

the U.S. Pavilion has always been a focal point at TIF, attracting

the interest of participants and visitors as well as key decision

makers and influencers, ministers, parliamentarians, and C suite

executives from the private and not-for-profit sectors of both

Greece and the neighboring countries.

The return of the United States to TIF as Honored Country, and

the importance of this event to advancing the economic

relationships between the U.S. and Greece, has been brought to

focus by both the Greek and U.S. governments, as evidenced by

President Trump’s comments during his meeting with Prime

Minister Tsipras at the White House in October 2017.

Prime Minister Tsipras along with a high-level U.S. delegation will

attend the opening and will inaugurate the American Pavilion.
