Teen Center at the Haselwood
Family Y in Silverdale
Our Rotary Club has, for many years,
recognized the need for a well supervised
centrally located modern facility to serve our teens.
Now we have the opportunity to bring
this vision to a reality.
Teen Programs at the YTypical Programs (Gig Harbor)• Teen Fitness – Supervised cardio and strength programs• School District Collaboration – Middle School Program• Teen Late Nite – Supervised Friday/Saturday – open to all!• Youth and Government – Learning State legislative process• Teen Center – A safe, supervised, fun place to hang out
Many of the youth programs at the Y are offered as aCommunity service, open to non-members without charge!
Where?
The new Y is under construction just a few blocks from where we meet every week.
Modeled after the recently opened Gig Harbor Y, the building will be stunning in its beauty and functionality.
Designed, built, and staffed by professionals who know their business inside-out, the facility and staff will deliver eye-watering levels of service to our community.
The Teen Center is a central component to the facility and the overall Y experience.
The Haselwood Family Y is scheduled to open in the summer of 2011
How?We can make this happen with a pledge to the Y of $250,000 over a seven year period of time.
The Rotary Club would determine exactly how this might be done.
This is an achievable goal if we do not limit our creative thinking!
Some possible scenarios to fund the project. There are many other possibilities!

Why?• There is a big NEED for this project, not just a want.
• Our Rotary Club has been discussing this need and wrestling with how to get the need satisfied for many years.
• We now have the opportunity to meet the need by moving ahead with a trusted partner.
• With some extra hard work over time we can have the resources in place to be successful.
We have the opportunity, now we need the commitment.
