The problem

Drones lack capacity and endurance

For the world to truly benefit from

Drones and their capability, an

opportunity exists to create a

completely new class of drone with

increased capacity to carry and overall

endurance to deliver the next class of

payload (50kg+). capacity endurance capacity endurance

The problemBoth Brisbane and Toowoomba suffered

devastating floods in 2011, placing the need

for more effective disaster relief at the

forefront of both founders minds.

During this period, disaster-relief whilst

coordinated, utilised a “one size fits all”

approach.

The future of drone capability represents a

targeted response for regional and rural

communities, with more efficient use of

limited resources.

The Solution

To provide humanitarian relief efforts to

remote and regional communities in a post

natural disaster scenario.

We will push the boundaries of current drone

technology, by rewarding winning teams with

prizes to encourage excellence through global

competition.

We seek to develop drone technology for

economic and safe operation within a

commercial environment whilst pushing the

current limitations of weight lift capability and

endurance.

The Challenge

The Challenge

Create a collaborative and competitive environment

through working with the government regulator (CASA)

to deliver actionable innovation for the drone industry.

The challenge will be conducted meeting aviation

safety regulatory requirement whilst seeking to

promote industry compliance with other regulatory

fields to produce safe, economically feasible and useful

drone technology.

Working in conjunction with the regulator, we are able

to offer our experiences from the World Drone

Challenge in defining a new class of drone

technology and operations

Sub-events (To be run during the WDC)

Pizza delivery

During the challenge, there is an

opportunity for a pizza provider to

showcase their technology by having

pizzas delivered to members of the

general public via drone.

Automated mining truck race

Much of the mining industry is advancing towards

driverless technology for their mining trucks to

provide higher levels of safety on sites.

An automated mining truck race would

demonstrate this capability to a wider audience.
