• Understand your position in Christ—Satan has been defeated (Ephesians 1:19-22)—the believer has authority in Christ

• Weapons of warfare (2 Corinthians:10-3-6)—prayer, faith, obedience

Basics of Spiritual Warfare

• We expect it (1 Peter 5:8)• We prepare for it (1 John 3:8)• We pray for protection (James 4:7)• We pray for discernment (Eph 1:17, 6:16-18)• We pray against it (1 Peter 3:12; Col 4:2)• We pray and walk with confidence that there is

victory in Christ and that He is with us always (1 Peter 5:9; 1 John 3:24; Eph 3:16)

Possible manifestations of Spiritual Warfare:

• Strife among team members• Logistical problems• Misunderstandings with hosts in country• Illness and other medical issues• Discouragement and emotional overload• Poor rest; unusual behavior• Theft, lost luggage• Attacks can be on the field or back home
