Machine monitoring

Cards, draw rames, lappers, combers and fyers areconnected to the system by means o a Data Unit. ThisData Unit detects the production speed and run time.This inormation, in combination with the number odeliveries and the sliver count, allows a calculation othe production per hour and per shit.

The various stop motions on the machines can also beconnected to the Data Unit or transmitting automaticstop causes to the central system.

By using the keyboard o the Data Unit, associates canmake manual declarations to speciy more detailedstop reasons or log other events to the monitoring

system.

Quality monitoring: KITMaster

In connection with Trützschler cards and draw rames,BarcoVision oers the KitMaSter Sliver InormationSystem.

In addition to production inormation, KitMaSter alsoprovides on-line inormation on sliver count, sliverevenness, spectrogram and length variation curves.This results in 100% real time quality assurance.

Installing KitMaSter in spinning preparation eliminatescostly and time consuming sampling and lab tests andoers numerous advantages, such as improved quality,no loss in raw materials required or sampling, and costreduction in personnel and lab equipment.

SliverWatch

BarcoVision’s SliverWatch system, mounted on the rststep draw rames or oreign ber detection, can alsobe connected to the central system. As such, statisticson the number o draw rame stops or oreign berare available per individual sliver can.

Production data such as machine eciency, producedsliver length, number o can changes, number oproduction stops as well as quality stops are availablein real-time and on a shit or lot base.

Spindle per spindle monitoring

More and more spinning operations want to monitorthe individual ring spindle or yarn breaks and spindlespeed. OptiSpin, oering an individual detector or eachspindle which detects run/stop and speed, monitorsthe ends down level and reports slipping spindles.

Connected to SpinMaSter, much additional inormationis available in the data base to give technicians adetailed ends down analysis and a tool or improving

rame eciency.

A mouse click on a particular ring rame allows the userto select any detailed report, such as the spindles withhighest breakage level, slipping spindles per machine,yarn breaks in unction o the bobbin build up, duringup and down movement o the ring rail, …

Ends down levels, slipping spindles, rame and spindleeciencies are reported by do, as well as by shit,day, week and month. Trend reports highlight recurringproblem spindles.

Stops are always assigned to the right spindle, regard-

less the length o the machine. Interaces are availableto the speed inverter o the ring rame, to increase thespeed in case the ends down level remains below adened threshold. This way, an optimum and consis-tent quality level is achieved at maximum eciency.

Machine monitoring

Ring spinning rames are connected to the SpinMaSter system by means o Data Units or machine basedmonitoring.

The Data Unit automatically detects delivery speedand automatic stops such as doing and handstops. Through the keyboard, the operator can enteradditional down time, message and administrativedeclarations.

On the color-coded layout o the mill, the rames arepictured in certain colors, each color indicating a certainmachine status or alarm condition. The user selects thetype o inormation to be displayed: production data,

speeds, stop rates, eciencies, …

User denable “lter sets” allow the user to displayonly these machines which correspond with a certaincondition, or example all machines with an eciencyless than 90%, all machines waiting or an interven-tion, ...

Quality monitoring:Loepfe MillMaster

Loepe’s YarnMaSter is a clearer system which allows,amongst other eatures, deect classifcation. BarcoVisionand Loepe have developed an interace which providesproduction and quality monitoring on a per spindle basisor all types o winders.

This interace provides detailed yarn deect inorma-tion, such as yarn deects cut out and small yarndeects remaining in the yarn or each spindle.

Yarn clearing parameters, such as clearing channelswith classication matrix and clearer curves, can bedisplayed and edited on the central MillMaSter system

or each machine or style.

Bi-directional communication with the YarnMaSter central unit will allow the downloading o thesesettings over the network.

Spindle per spindle monitoring

On winders, machine monitoring provides little practi-cal data. Monitoring the individual behavior o eachspindle or drum on the winder provides inormationthat can be used to improve production and quality.

For each position, the ollowing data elements arerequired:

Run time and stop time.Number o stops.Number o dongs.Number o yarn breakages.Yarn clearer cuts and red lights.Stop time or red lights.

Time or dong.

SpinMaSter collects this inormation rom each positionon the winder by means o a special interace boardinstalled or each spindle or by an interace to themachine inormation system already available onthe winder. In the latter case, only the inormationtransmitted by the machine unit is available orreporting.

Quality monitoring

Beside the listed production and stop inormation,OeMaSter also provides all quality related inormation

such as:

Deect classication.CV% analysis.Spectrogram analysis.Sliver alarms and locks.Sliver moiré and pearl deects.IPI values and statistics.CVL curves.

Also the clearer settings can easily be up- and down-loaded between the central system and the BarcOprOfile machine unit.

For machines equipped with the ABS oreign ber orPolypropylene clearer system, oreign ber relatedinormation, such as number o oreign ber cuts perrotor and oreign ber classication, are also availablein OeMaSter.

Very much like the winders, OE machines requiremonitoring o the individual production points. Fromeach rotor, the ollowing inormation is o importanceto the OE plant manager:

OE machines equipped with the BarcOprOfile or cOrOlaB yarn clearer can be connected to OeMaSter without anyhardware cost involved.

For machines with a other clearer, OeMaSter oersa special interace, called 3x4K, which is installedbetween the machine inormation system and theyarn clearer system.

Declarations are handled through the keyboard oBarcoProle or through the keyboard o the 3x4Kinterace unit.

Client - Server

SpinMaSter uses today’s most powerul Windows® servers asheart o the system. Congurations with disk mirroring, RAIDdisks and even dual host processors assure the very highreliability required or real time applications.

Users in the mill have access to their application throughthe extremely user riendly and fexible GUI (Graphical UserInterace) based client sotware installed in their PC.

Connecting the machines

In case only machine based monitoring is required, themachine is equipped with a Data Unit. This unit detects theproduction speed, production and stop time and automaticstops such as dong, sliver breakage, … I stop time recordedas manual stop needs urther analysis, the operator can enterthe exact down time or stop declaration on the Data Unitkeyboard.

In case individual spindle or drum monitoring or quality moni-

toring on cards and draw rames is required, another approachis used. Thereore, SpinMaSter oers a direct link to Loepe’sYarnMaSter yarn clearer system or winders, BarcOprOfile yarnclearers or OE machines and Trützschler’s KIT interaces orcards and draw rames.

Report and formula generator

By means o the built-in report and ormula generator, everytextile manager, without any programming knowledge, candene his own calculations and reports in tabular or graphicormat.
