Summer II – Monday Night In-Service Training on various topics relating to general officiating and

Intramural policies

Staff is required to attend at least ONE of these training sessions

Meetings are on the following Monday dates from 8:00 – 9:00 PM: 7/14 7/21 7/28 8/4

First Session, 7/14 – “Injuries and Ejections” Presented by Evan and Christian

You will be paid for your time and food will be provided

Summer I: What Went Well

Handled large amount of Supervisor turnover

Only 4 ejections!

Few major injuries – all handled properly

Many new officials at many newsports

Registered, scheduled and handled more teams than in any previous summer term ever.

Unsportsmanlike Conduct Ejected players

Inform captains of procedures Document everything - QUOTES!!! Player has 5 minutes to leave the facility Team with ejected player will forfeit if

player does not leave.

General Policy Review

Jewelry “The New Policy” “The New Policy” Supervisor assigns a team for each

referee, if someone on team is found to have jewelry referee does the next game as well.

Games “off” are not “breaks” Get food only after asking a Supervisor 15 minute rule

Marino Policies No cell phones – includes iPhones or anything with a camera No open toed shoes Personal Items in the Marino Office – Jack’s policy No items should be left in the IM Cage

New Employee scheduling system – once bugs are figured out should improve living conditions.

If you need to request a day off, it must be done by Wednesday at noon the week before the shift!!

We have placed a form on the Staff Website

Use the staff list for anything you are already scheduled for.

Your timesheet MUST be submitted by Monday at NOON

every week in order to ensure that you are paid for your time. If this is

not done, you will NOT be paid.

Emergency Procedures For Injuries

Assess the situation – GET A SUPERVISOR• Is the scene safe for you and the rest of the staff?• Control the situation: ask bystanders to remain back• Determine the seriousness of the injury• Do not move the injured person• Contacting Campus Police:• 617-373-2121 [non-emergencies]• 617-373-3333 [emergencies]• Campus safety has a direct link to 911 and will send

personnel immediately

Being involved in unsportsmanlike

acts during an Intramural event can

lead to negative work-related

discipline issues.

If you play intramural sports while you are working, you are expected to behave like an

ANGEL!!!
