Trojan War Continued

• During the war, Diomedes(a Greek hero) saw Ares fighting on the Trojans' side. Diomedes called his soldiers to fall back slowly as he saw Ares demolishing everyone. Hera saw his interference with the war and asked Zeus for permission to get Ares away from the war, which Zeus approved of obviously. Hera and Athena encouraged Diomedes to attack Ares. Diomedes threw his spear at Ares and Athena finishing him off. Ares' cry made the Greeks and Trojans tremble in fear. Ares fled to Mt. Olympus, forcing the Trojans to fall back because he is a powerful asset.

Trojan War Continued

• When Hera during a conversation with Zeus mentioned that Ares' son Ascalaphus was murdered, Ares wanted to join the fight on the side of the Greeks even though Zeus ordered no Olympic god can enter the battle. Athena stopped him. Later, when Zeus allowed the gods to fight each other, Ares was the first to act by attacking Athena to get revenge for his previous injury. Athena managed to beat him by striking Ares with a boulder.

• Ares was a cruel and bloody murder. He never cared who he killed and that’s why every once in a while he would kill a Trojan just for the fun of it. Even though he was a carless killer he was a great asset to have in battle.
